Having issues getting into the skilling/service market in runescape 2007 please advice

Please advice accordingly

I need to make some cash in game and I can easily do void and skilling legitimately

I've browsed around and see that this community can help me make money by providing such services

Problem is there are a few monopolies here in the market and bursting in with no vouches or donation rank seems to deter customers

How can I get vouches?
Is donation even necessary if not how can I make people use me to gain vouches?

Pls just give some tips as I've been off put to open a thread providing services as it seems pointless

Do free skilling services as the guy above mentioned. For trades, use MM for increasing vouch count & security. As you develop your profile business will become easier.

When I started with my quest service (having 0 vouches and 0$ donated), I just didnt give a fuck. I made the thread and bumped it now and then and just got customers that way. My prices were a little bit cheaper than that of the other people doing quest services back then though, which also helped, but I never did free stuff for people.

 

I think it's good to be transparent/honest about being a new user. Make it clear that you are willing to use middlemen for your trades and be patient, maybe offer your customers proof during the service like progress pictures for example. Be patient and polite on your thread and you will get trades eventually.

 

Even though I've offered to give out a free service no one is hitting me up... Maybe just need to be patient as JMG said

 

There are tons of people hiring skillers on here. Just hit them up, you will need a deposit though.

They ask for a deposit because they have no reason to trust you without it.

 

I personally advise against doing any sort of free work... me seeing a new user tell me he's "trusted" and wants to train my 300+ dollar accounts and then I see a page of 2-3 free work posts I know that sketch! I would never ever take someone's free offer because nothing in this day is free and chances are they could fuck up the account by botting or screwing around! Trust me, people who say "do free stuff" are the people who want to take advantage of your generosity because there's very few quality members who would take a chance on a "free service" with their accounts and leave a meaningful vouch.


The best advice I can give you is to be Patient, Active, and Honest. Straight up just work with people, explain you are experienced at what you do and are willing to take evidence/pictures/ maybe even full recordings to showcase your work. Check what others price their skills at and try to beat them by just a little. Over time people's small orders for a quest or two will add up and with a page of vouches you can book orders left and right and have people pay you first before working. Never try to force vouches either as that just looks strange. I'd prefer a person with 3 quality and real vouches than ten that say "Bought 3m 07 from me" "did a free quest" ... etc. Overall, Trust is hard to get but once it's gotten you are set. Good luck!

One thing I would say is to not try compete with other prices in the market.

What I mean by this - Some users charge more due to being more higher ranked, and/or because sythe is a different market platform. For example you could go to Powerbot and find that prices for questing is different to here, having a donation rank helps you stand out slightly but isn't really required to get somewhere. You could start with easy requirements such as if someone requests a nightmare zone quest set do it for a few mill instead of the 7-10M like someone else and so on.
