Have you ever wished for a time machine? I do..

Okay so I just recently graduated high school and I wish that I would have done ALOT of things different in my life...
You see when i was in high school I was a "jock" who got their grades given to them because of our athletic profomances... Looking back now I really wish that I would have put school in front of sports... I mean don't get me wrong I love sports, they were the reason I went to school.. That and I had to haha.
Now that I'm starting my life in the "real world" things are ALOT different.. I have college offers for sports mainly track and field. I will probably take one of them and run track but then I think to myself "what if I do the same thing I did in high school?" Then my life will really be messed up. Hell I screwed up high school. I just wish I had made the grades on my own.. Now I'm scared that I will not be prepared for college and the real world.. I just wish I could go back and re-do it all. It really stresses me out. It's not what I wanted :/

I wish too, I hate being an adult. I'd like to go back to being like 17 and not having any of the stress I do now.

No, no I haven't. I don't think you should be dwelling on the past, especially if it upsets you. Move forward. While academics are surely important, you didn't screw yourself. You probably aren't aware of this, but in some ways sports can prepare you for the real world better than academics can -- mainly interaction and working together with others, which is extremely important.

You chose a path you're unhappy with, but there will be so many more paths for you to choose in your lifetime. High school is simply one phase in your life. Congratulations on your college offers and I wish you all the best.

High school academia is so different from school to school that you can't really use it to judge how well you'll do in college. If you choose a major that interests you and pick up good study habits, then I think you'll do just fine.

 

Yes, but no. I have had those times where I regret what happened, but I wouldn't completely go want back in time and change everything. It's those events that help shape a person's personality, and the rest of their life.

I do not wish that I could have a time machine. There are things that I could have done better in the past, but it won't change anything to regret my previous actions. It is better to focus on reaching my full potential in the present.

There'd be no point in tryin' to 'perfect' your life. Hell, If I could go back to say when I was 5 I'd have ask my parents to teach me mandarin, russian, german, french, spanish.. etc.
Live & learn, making mistakes are what make us humans & not mindless machines.

 

Everything happens for a reason, live life the way it's supposed to be for you. No need for a time machine.

Yes, would be awesome to do exciting stuff over and over again, or undo things you shouldn't have done.

I don't wish for a time machine and this is WHY it doesn't exist, if you'd go back in time, all that would happen is that you would get stuck in an infinite loop.. and that would be hell. If those of you who wish for it were actually as old as you say you were, then you wouldn't think of unrealistic devices.
