I like diablo but...

The fact the game is based on world of war craft engine it's extremely cartoony and I feel isolated in a world of war craft, as if diablo III is an expansion. This is not to say that I will not purchase diablo, but I have a feeling the game play itself will effect how I feel about the game due to the cartoony portrait of the series, and the idea of WoW being struck into proportion of the series.

To be honest, a lot of MMORPG, and FPS are going downhill, take a look at halo, COD for instance. Tried hard to make the game better then it really was and ruined the franchise for me

However, I prefer the what it should like. It should be a lot darker.

 

I agree, and it seems like a lot of games are going for the more cartoony look. Look at the new AoE online coming out, very cartoony compared to AoE3 which had amazing graphics.

League of Legends also have verrrry cartoony graphics.

 

Yeah I also like the should like half but I suppose it still looks nice eitherway just less, dark and realistic.

Your comparisons were perfect. The "how it looks like" seems to be less realistic. I rather be pounding those skeletons in the second than the first.

 

"How it should look like" = 100 times better, I hope the guy who edited that pics will make a Full Game Conversion into that darker style!

The screenshots you used for diablo3 (an unfinished game) are very old. Check out a few newer screenshots...

Also keep in mind your screenshots are from act1. Diablo3 is set many years after diablo2. Everything has been normal, trees are growing back, grass, flowers etc... for many years. Act1 follows on from this as monsters from hell return.

You mentioned gameplay. Diablo3 is sticking with the isometric camera and point and click system. Many people who played the demo at blizcon said the gameplay was very good and just like diablo2. So no need to worry on that front

 

This game is an unfinished product, it's currently still being produced. We'll judge the game when it has came out or near close to release when they show newer trailers and gameplay of the game.
