    Pure Questions

    I am having issues about making a pure, because I have no idea which pure to make! Now I need to clear up some questions about different pures.

    Stats to the following pures are what?

    Strength Pure
    Range Tank
    G Maul Rusher
    Zerker Pure


    Also, when pking, what would you be doing for each of those pures?

    A strength pure generally has 1 attack and 60-99 strength. This is because at 60 strength, you can wear the obsidian maul. This is a very strong weapon, and you can already hit around 15-20 on combat 35. (Combat 35 is when most people get 60 strength). They're quite effective actually. You'll be 99 strength at around combat level 50-55, depending on your HP level. I'm sure there's a way to calculate this. Ofcourse, if you don't want the hp levels, you can always do barbarian fishing all the way to 99, but this takes a very long time and is nearly impossible.
    For pking with a strength pure, I'd suggest just using the maul. Simple as that. You'll be hitting quite well, and a few good consecutive hits will knock your opponent down.

    A range tank is a .. Ranger, with 45+ defence. I don't know alot about this, so I'll go to gmaul rusher.

    A gmaul rusher usually has 50 attack and 50-99 strength. This is because 50 attack and 50 strength are needed to wield them.
    This is often combined with 58, 72, 82 or 94 magic. You basically just cast ice rush, ice .. thingy (Dunno what the 72 one is called), ice blitz or ice barrage once or twice, then run towards them and use your gmaul specs. This will work exceptionally well against unarmored foes, but when you're a high combat, expect your targets to wield rune or even dragon items; your 50 attack will not always hit through that.

    Finally, a zerker pure. My favourite. I have one of those myself on 07, actually.
    A zerker pure is a pure with 45 defence, 60/70 or 99 attack, and 99 strength. (Strength level may vary, but generally attack is NEVER higher than your strength level)
    Often this is combined with 94 magic for ice barrage and a high ranged level. This is because zerkers are ideal for hybridding.
    With the ideal zerker (99 magic, 99 strength, 60 attack, 99 ranged, 99hp, 45 def, 52 prayer) you will be combat 94.

    Great explanations! Thank you for that. Now I still have some questions. (New to the whole pure aspect).

    With a Strength Pure I heard to train with you want to use a Slayer Staff, does a Strength Pure have Prayer? Or how are they going to be able to get 55 Slayer?


    And on a Zerker, personally I would want 70 attack, for the whip of course. But I heard everyone saying 70 attack on a Zerker is a fail, is that true?

    Lastly, I still need Range Tank.

    A strength pure uses a topaz machete and obsidian maul until they have 55 slayer. After that you will use a slayers staff, which is as strong as a rune scimitar. Ofcourse, you can still just use your maul to train.
    To train slayer, just do the tasks. It may take long, but it is certainly rewarding.
    You can choose to get prayer on a strength pure. The 3 extra combat levels don't really matter, as you'll get the superhuman strength prayer, so you'll be hitting 15% more.

    70 attack on a zerker could be a fail. This is because the whip has 3 styles of attack: Controlled, accurate and defensive. In other words, you won't be able to train strength with it, so you'll always get exp in attack or defence. If you don't really care about your attack level raising, go ahead and get 70.

    Basically for a Range Tank, you'll have high Range, Def, HP, and hopefully Magic.

    Att and Str obviously aren't a necessity, but it is good to have at least a bit so you have the option.

    The ideal stats for a maxed Range Tank (in my opinion):

    99 Range
    99 Def
    99 HP
    99 Magic
    70 Att
    70 Str
    52 Prayer (for Smite, this is optional but my preference)

    I put 70 Attack and 70 Strength there because with MAXED Range Tank stats, you can get a combination of 149 Att/Str levels before leveling up in combat. This means that I have given a leniency of 9 levels for any future level ups you might obtain doing melee in the Wilderness.
