Hacked for TONS on Oldschoolrunescapeape.

So within a 30 minute period
( went staking on multiple accounts )
logged out and went for a bite.
came back and every single accounts password was changed.

So obviously my email was hacked. The hacker got all my usernames. Changed all the passwords. Hopped onto said accounts and stole Thousands of dollars worth of runescape gold.

I'm confused as to why I didn't receive any emails notifying me of these various password changes?
Everytime I send a password reset request on runescape they usually send me an email instantly ( my phone instantly rings ) cause I have the email app. Why did none of this happen?

How did this guy manage to change all my runescape passwords without me getting any notification?

Listen mate it's your own fault for getting hacked in 2016. You should have used 2FA on your RS account, RS linked e-mail, e-mail linked recovery e-mail, with a bank pin as well. And you won't need an antivirus with some common sense, hence why I'd advise one in your case.

 

I went through this already after I was recovered for my bank. Basically do what Conor said but first thing run a malware check or just reformat your computer then make new emails for everything and 2fa on 2fa for everything with Google authenticator.

Not really a 'security issue'. You werent 'hacked'; the people who stole your gold just got your information somehow, through phishing, virus, or something of the sort.

Security issues are when people break through the security measures of a system.

 

He most likely marked all the emails coming from Jagex as Spam so it didnt send a notification to your phone. This is how he got enough time to wipe all your accounts.

Thats just a theory

 

or simply deleted the emails
