TWC baby!

The story:
I was given a link on MSN by [email protected]
I thought it was legit
I went to it, and saw the thing ask to run (Java Applet)
I did NOT click run, I went straight to sythe and posted about R2pleasant's site being a virus.
However... I received a lot of responses of "That's the wrong r2"
I thought it was the real r2.
It got locked, and I thought nothing of it any longer.


However.. Someone created a msn "[email protected]" (I even posted about him being an impostor[ he must have exported + imported the contact list, since a lot of people kept asking if I was [email protected]])

When I went to the site that I reported about, earlier, it must have still infected me (A 'silent' driveby, or an 'exploit')

He then had access to my computer.
He then proceeded to use my sythe account to pm various people, to trade [email protected] (I believe that is true, but I have no "sent" items of anything, hacker possibly deleted so I would not become aware)
I do not believe anyone has been scammed by that.

"Why is the ip only yours?"
I leave my sythe account logged in, so it doesn't require me to enter my password (I'm lazy, shush)
As well as my msn, saved password.

Hacker was unable to get passwords for either, but he did have my RS PW (bank pin saved me.) and noticed weird ip's on it a few times, thinking it's my friends. I didn't do much, but changed passwords a few times and gave to the same friends.


I would love it if you reviewed it and, if possible, removed the TWC?

Can you show us that you've learned to increase your computer's security?

 

I have spybot search and DESTOI, Maleware Bytes, and I do scans weekly

I do scans in safemode, which when in safemode, your computer ONLY boots up the most necessary programs to run.
Meaning the virus/keylogger/etc will not run.

So the virus scanners can pick everything up.

So yea

Please provide a screenshot of, lets say, a completed full scan.

 

I don't take pics of them, but I'll scan in safemode in a bit, and try to screenshot it, or take a picture with my camera lol.

 

I'd also like to see you show proof of having a FIREWALL. If you just have protection software, you might as well just not waste the hard drive space for the software. There are holes in every protecton software, no matter how good it is. You need to double it up with a firewall as well as a detection software.

Basically, you need three things to be as safe as is reasonable: a good virus PROTECTION software (e.g., Avast, AVG, etc), a good DETECTION software (e.g., Malwarebytes), and a good firewall.

 

I have never used any AV program, other than Malewarebytes and spybot, so I am installing AVG now.

Get a firewall. I suggest COMODO for a good free one.

Well, considering the clean trading history and success despite the TWC, I personally support removing the rank. The actual decision must be made my a global or admin, however.

Already got that damn AVG/Firewall popping up every 1-4hours asking me to scan, pretty annoying but I suppose it's what it takes lol.
