Welp, guns banned. don't agree with the mod decision. Why should he be required to refund the bonds when given misinformation by jagex? That's not Gun's fault imo but whatever. If he can get the name unbound and transferred then feelssadman should be required to honor the original agreement... As he said, all he wants is the name anyway.

 

If only someone knew the real reason for what happened with the binding / unbinding of the account name... nobody appears to have an answer for that.

The person doesn't even really care about the bonds anyways it seems and Gun wouldn't be required to pay for all of them. There should only be 2.

I asked FeelsSadMan to try and work with him multiple times, but I was ignored instead as he doesn't want to take any risks.

I've only posted to provide a second opinion and done with it now. Just thought I'd add that here for some clarity, though I'm sure it's not enough.

 

Well i think your original decision for them to work it out and forcing gun to get the name transferred was the best decision... If the name was sniped then Gun wouldn't be responsible, so what if he gets the name unbound and FeelsSadMan refuses to continue with the purchase? It's not fair that he gets to renege on the deal because all of a sudden he doesn't want anymore risk.... Theres always added risk when purchasing a name isn't there?

 

I bought the account under the pretenses that the name was unbound. There were no agreements about it becoming bound again. I accepted the risk of the name being sniped. I didn't know the name would be bound, so that's a risk left out of the picture. Had I known this could've posed a problem, I would not have purchased the name to begin with. In short, I didn't get what I paid for.

 

If he gets the name unbound then you got what you paid for. Like i said in an earlier post, how could he be held responsible for something a Jagex employee told him?!?!?

He should be given adequate time to get the name unbound and then you should be forced to complete the deal. No backsies bruh.

 

I've already tried transferring the name. It failed. He loses absolutely nothing by refunding me, left in the same situation he was before the sale. It's not my responsibility for the name being bound and the account getting locked. It has to fall on someone. The risk of the name being rebound was something I had no idea of prior to this. Now that I know and it's happened once. It seems the risk is even higher of it happening a second time. (Again, something I didn't agree to.)

 

You could question how 'unbound' the name was when all it (seemingly) took was FeelSad to log-on on the account and try to change the name to make it bound again.

 

Even if the name becomes unbound, I don't see what's to stop the exact same issue from occurring. I don't understand how me trying to change the name is me "fucking something up" - Gun's words. Now I'm forced to take a risk I didn't agree to taking.

 

If the name was just unbound Gun should've been the one to transfer the name off to an account Feelsadman would want the name on. Typically with bound names/previously bound names Jagex watches the IP of where the account is being logged in from and if it doesn't match it just automatically gets locked. Especially in such a short time frame from being unbound. So if Feelsadman only wanted the name Gun should've attempted to transfer the name off himself so Feelsadman could actually have a chance at getting it. However, seeing as it looks like Gun isn't even the og owner of the account I'm not sure he'd even be able to do that as his IP obviously wouldn't match the og owner's. I also don't know how the hell Feelsadman managed to spend 100m rs3 on bonds, that part doesn't make sense to me.

I think there's screw-ups on both parts tbh. Personally, I think Gun should be given time to try to work things out with the name and having it unbound once again. Even if he manages to figure that part out though, I don't know how the name being transferred off would play any differently though since I think there's probably a very good chance it'll just get locked again either way, considering Jagex is especially retarded when it comes to this stuff.

Jagex could've possibly unbound the name on the account to go along with the account creation IP as they probably assumed only he (the og owner) would be the one trying to transfer the name off. Possible third parties most likely weren't considered.

 

My thoughts exactly. The odds of me getting the name seem very slim.

How I spent so much on bonds is on my own accord and not holding anyone else responsible but myself. I used 2 bonds to intially free the account name. One bond on my own account to take the name. When this didn't work, I was under the impression the name got sniped. It wouldn't allow me to change back to the name on the OG account from in game either. I used another bond on the OG account for a name change and it allowed me to take the name on while logged in on the RuneScape website. After this, I thought maybe I needed to do the same to take the name on my actual account, which led to me buying more bonds. I had to make sure it was bound. I'd never dealt with a situation like this before.

Now with a failed transfer and a locked account, I can only assume getting the name unbound again and successfully transferred is unlikely. However, this remains to be seen.
