Guide to preparing for the ultimate PhotoShop Experince (part 1 to a 5 part series)

Requirement's

1.Internet Connection
2. Administrator Privileges on your computer
3. The ability to click links and follow instructions


Part 1 : Preparing

Obtaining Photoshop

Obtaining WinRar (Unzipping Program)

Obtaining new font's threw www.dafont.com

Step One

Go to your "My Document's Folder and create a new folder




Label it whatever you'd like but for this TuT I will be using "DaFont"





Step Two


With any browser take a stroll right on over to www.dafont.com

Step 3

Locate a font that you believe you want to use; then right click the download button. Now choose the " Save Link As" option.



Direct the save path from whatever it may be to The "DaFont" folder you created in the begging . The reason we do this is it keeps you organized , reduces clutter, stops you from redownloading a font, and much more positive things.




Step 4

Now to extract the font and install it to your computer! First, right click the font and select the "Extract Here" Option.



You should now have a file that looks like this " yourfontname.ttf " (ttf stands for True Type Font File). Right click it and select the " Install " option. There you go a brand new font to use! (you MUST restart any application that you want to use the font on after installing the font for it to appear!)






Obtaining New PhotoShop Brushes

Step One

Go to your "My Document's Folder and create a new folder





Label it whatever you'd like but for this TuT I will be using "PS Brushes"





Step 2

Now once you have browsed and found a brush you like, right click the down load button and select the " Save link as " option.



Now redirect the saving path to the folder we created earlier that I named " Ps Brushes" . This will help save from clutter and redownloading the same brushes.



Now its time to unzip the file, simply right click the file and select the " Extract Here" option .



you should now have an " .abr " file. Simply go to your photoshop and load the brush up! (if you do not know how to do this, It will be shown in the guide Part 2).
