Guide on How To: Tackle in rugby

This is my fifth guide and will probably be my last rugby guide. I will now be applying for a UE job. Please feel free to support me. Please analyze my guide.

There are two types of tackle, front-on and side-on, and then there are all manner of variations possible, both rehearsed and unrehearsed, legal and illegal. The essential aim is to stop the ball carrier and put him on the ground and while there are a variety of ways to do that, the most effiencent ways are the orthodox ways.

    Now to the guide:

With the front on tackle, I prefer to watch the opponent’s hips and i get a fair idea of what they are going to do by that. It also tends to take my body lower into the tackle, of course, is much preferred. A tackle from a standing position is much easier to brush off and, even if contact is made, it is unlikely a standing tackle will take a player to the ground. Therefore, i approach low, have s straight spine, chin up and watch the opponent’s hips. I take short steps-- allowing for quick adjustment-- going into the tackle and get as close as i can with my leading foot before grabbing the opponents waist area. I keep my head to the side, wrap my arms around and then drive through with the legs to keep the power going.

With the side-on tackle, it is harder to get the timing right because of the differing speeds between the ball carrier and the tackler. It's necessary to adjust speed as you close in on the tackle to aid the timing. I get as close as I can then hit with the shoulder wrap my arms around. I try to go cheek to hip, get a good wrap, and then slide my arms down. The positioning of the head in the tackle is of extreme importance. The last thigh you want is your head jammed between the ground and the player you have tackled. Any attempted fend should be overcome by a good, low body position, short steps to allow a quick adjustment and the arms just wide enough apart to encircle the ball carrier. A tackler with arms wide apart can be fairly simply deflected

This is my last rugby guide and I will be making other guides on sports and maybe maths.

This is just my opinion but you should have combined all three rugby guides (which were short) into one detailed guide.

I only saw three, guess I missed the others. IMO, if you apply for UE with just 5 short guides (My guides were more detailed and I was denied for lack of detail) you will probably be denied. I mean you can apply if you want with what you have I'm just trying to help you out.

Guide on How To: Tackle in rugby

It was a good guide, I play rugby and everything seems to be pretty accurate.
There are a few errors you need to sort out.

I'm sure you mean 'have a straight spine.
And also, there are a few i's that need capitalising.
