What are your thoughts on this?

 

I saw this on the news recently. People have been praising him for making this video of himself admitting to driving drunk and killing somebody, but i think this guy is just complete trash. He murdered an innocent person because of his recklessness and then gets praised like wtf! Hope he goes away to prison for a long time.

 

He claims the only reason he wanted to publicize it - to interpret his message throughout all different age groups with abuse problems.

 

I don't feel any sympathy for him what so ever, me and my dad speak about this a lot, back in my old town somebody killed a family of 4 from drinking and driving, never do you see an accident where only the drunken guy get's killed, it's always the innocent family who does the right thing in life..

Pathetic, and I hope he goes away for a VERY long time, if not for life.

Lol some message he is sending. This guy is a scumbag. He pleaded not guilty.

 

He had to plea not guilty, it's a law in Ohio. When we returns to court the 18th he will plea guilty.

 

he needs to serve his sentence, no sympathy should be given due to his poor choices

 

Calling him a scumbag is excessive. He is an idiot who made the wrong decision and at least has the conscious to come clean. However if you do the crime you do the time.

Drunk driving is a real problem that effects the best of us. You don't have to be a "scumbag" to get sucked into this mess.

I'm kinda neutral on this, I understand he's publicizing this only to spread a message, but it's his fault and he killed and innocent civilian.

 

He's 22-years old, practically still a kid.

I am sympathetic. We all have been in a situation, so scared of the outcome that we have lied and manipulated the truth. Actions that aren't as severe as ruining our life, another life, that we still were so scared of what would happen we covered it up. Although it may have not been so bad we still covered it up and never told the truth, hid it forever.

Despite his actions, coming clean and altering his life forever is more important than living a free life. He had the courage to willingly change his life forever, eliminating his freedom, separating himself from his friends and family.

We all know the atmosphere and rumors of jail. The constant terror of being raped, murdered, attacked, in an environment smaller than your bedroom, its overwhelming. Knowing all this, he's stilling willing to come clean and honor the man he killed, accidentally.

Lot's of us drink, drive too. We're all vulnerable to this experience. Lot's of us wouldn't come clean if we made similar mistakes knowing what the outcome would be.

No one knows his reasons for drinking, perhaps a life so bad he abuses to forget. Regardless, he made a decision and has to live with it. Even after jail he will constantly live with the memory of murdering someone.

 

All hes trying to do is get a reduced sentence by posting this video - wether or not he's admitting to his mistakes (good on him) it still doesn't change the fact that what's done is done.. He murdered somebody.

OT: Well he does deserve a sentence for murder and drunk driving etc.. But good on him for admitting it.

 

People make mistakes, doesn't mean he's a monster or deserves life in prison or anything bad. He does deserve to serve the time for the crime he committed.

 

I agree. I don't think he is going to get the death penalty or perhaps a life sentence due to his publicized confession. However, I predict that he is going to be in jail for a long time - prolly for 60+ years (no expert just a guess). He also framed the video in such a way that also teaches people about alcohol abuse, which will also play in the sentencing. If he had not made the video, he would have walked a different path.

 

He'll be sentenced for -8 years.

 

Where do people get 60 years for manslaughter XD
