Your country dropped two atomic bombs on Japan, killing over 200,000 people and more than 100,000 people post-attack (radiation and the likes).

Your country started a war in a region on the other side of the world for economic gain and oil.

Your country is infamous around the world for getting involved in other peoples' affairs.

How dare you judge an entire nation on the basis of 18 people. On basic statistics it's likely that if this happened in the US, the passersby would be more likely to EAT the baby (being entirely facetious here).

It's disgusting, but blame the current state of human nature over the culture of an entire nation.

There is a psychological perspective here. Many say they would help, but when push comes to shove, most people wouldn't. People assume someone else will help, and when everyone thinks that, no one ends up helping. You are much more likely to get help from a single person than a crowd of people.

 

I can't speak for others, but I'd like help if I got hit, so I'd help someone needing it.
