Yeah, those are just words, but actual graffiti is art. I've seen a painting that all it is is paint splatter on a poster, and if that's art then graffiti has to be art.

Not on public buildings..if its on a run down warehouse or some shit, then hell yeah.

Just as long as if its on a building its not in use.

well if it's got a meaning behind it, then yes.

    Graffiti, art or not?

Graffiti is classed as 'street art', and it all depends on individual taste to whether you like or dislike it.

I'm all for graffiti, and spend some of my class time sprucing my books up :). I like to see Graffiti on old buildings as it gives them style, and makes them appear more life like. I also like to see it on the out skirts of the city centre, for the same reason.

Graffiti can be argued as the same reason 'street skating' can, it's a crime to some, but in other peoples eyes it's an art.

Something that takes skill and practice in my view is an art, as you can't just pick up your spray can and create a work of art. For the same reason you couldn't pick up a paintbrush and create the 'Mona Lisa', it would be impossible.

In conclision, graffiti can be argued for and against. But I'm all for it, for the simple fact that it takes time, effort and skill. Not to mention it gives an image of what the 'artist' is like.

    Regards, Vibes.

I consider Graffiti art, as long as it doesn't associate with vandalism. Some people are very talented in Graffiti art, but alot of them use it for illegal purposes, which is just a shame. I'm an okay graffiti artist, I could be much better, but meh.

If it's a drawing I believe it's art. If it's just writing a name down on every single block then it's retarded.

    Graffiti, art or not?

Graffiti is garbage, I would kill some child if they came and tagged the wall of my business. That's very much illegal. It's no different than someone tagging your forhead with their name or 'artwork", except it costs money and time to paint over your artwork.

I'm offended that anyone would call graffiti art, I sketch and i draw frequently, on paper... how fuckin hard is it to draw on a piece of paper.

hey I'll tell you what, If you build a building in the city then you can tag that all you want because it's yours, if not then keep your juvenile ass away from it and grow the fuck up.

Although I believe some of it is cool looking etc. I don't think graffiti is art if it is just some writing, to me art consists of a picture of some sort, and text no matter how it is designed I simply don't believe it is art.

    Graffiti, art or not?

Yes, I do think graffiti is art. Not everyone can do it, and you need a certain skill to do it. It must take time and practice to get good. Even if it is somthing bad, I still think it's art. You're creating somthing with a can of spray paint, creation to me is art.

    Graffiti, art or not?

Well I believe that it's art. As a lot of these 'taggers' are very talented. I just hate the fact that they do it on buildings, road signs that should just be left alone. They would be better off doing it somewhere, where it will be more appreciated.
