Graffiti isn't about art, it's about bombing. You aren't doing graffiti if you're not a vandal.

Disagree, some of that "bombing" you see, takes a lot of creative and artistic ability. Granted it's not always on the right place to express it, but hey thats art.

    Graffiti, art or not?

I believe it is an art.
It is frowned upon because a lot of folks believe it to be gang related, which is unfortunate for the artists out there.

Graff is art, why on earth would it not be art because of the canvas?

If I painted a picture on top of the Scream, would it too be art? Yes.

You may write on paper at your home, thinking you're an artist, being a toy, or you can be on the streets bombing and wrecking shit up. Graffiti isn't about art, it's about a lifestyle.

Graffiti can be and cannot be classed as ''Art''. Over the years people have discovered new styles of graffiti with meaning to their work, I class this as art. However, when people are just vandilising the walls for no reason, with no personal style or motive, then this is not art.

Graffiti is art when it actually means something.

When some vandals just sprays "Fuck You" in thin black spraypaint on a wall, then it is not art.

So you're admitting graffiti is a lifestyle, and in order to express and embrace that sort of lifestyle the artist must express themselves in someway. I mean the definiton of a lifestyle can be determined by a set of attitudes, or habits(graffiti). Art(graffiti) could be considered the expression of that lifestyle.

Not everyone can have the much creative ability, and I'm sure there are other artists or whatever you would like to call them, who simply do it for expression, which is about art. This can all come back to some type, or form of artistic expression.

Easy for outsiders like you to talk about it, graffiti is all about getting wasted and hitting the streets.
