    New pc/laptop ?

    Hello all,

so the time has come where I need to get my hands on a new bit of kit. I have had my compaq pc for a number of years now and after serving me so well it is on it's last legs and doesn't run like it used too. I also have a acer notebook, but which many of you know is no good for gaming of any sort and really is just for facebook and simple stuff.

Now I am not very technical or clued up much when it comes to the 'under the bonnet' aspects of computers and stuff, so I was wondering if someone who is could recommend me a decent desktop pc (yes pc as in windows, not mac) and/or a laptop.

I don't want to be spending too much, but I understand a good desktop/laptop will be good money. Not really sure how much I am willing to spend at the moment.

I am looking for something that will be fairly quick for playing games like Runescape, watching videos on youtube and downloading.

Sorry for going on and on ! All help is appreciated.

    Thanks.

I would be very willing to help out, but I need to know more information. If you're just going to play runescape, then the more entry- level of notebooks would suit you well.
If you wanna play rs, and every once in a while play a proper, yet simple game, such as perhaps CS or WOW or COD, then i can suggest you a few mid-range notebooks that would be perfect.
If you wanna do any serious gaming, with higher settings on more intensive games such as BF3, MOH:WF, Metro 2033, FC3 or other hardcore games...you'll be looking at notebooks sporting GTX660m's and above...aka high-end laptops. They'll cost a bit more, but there are a few bargains out there that i can point you towards.

So, what sort of gamer are you? And, what are you looking to spend? Portability can be costly, so keep that in mind. If it's worth it to you, like it is to me, then go for it. Otherwise I can help you piece together a desktop that would suit your needs aswell
