    PayPal chargeback - fraud

    Recently I sold 592M for $532.

Their was a chargeback as unauthorized payment. I talked to the scammer over MSN last night and they told me it was a hacked PayPal and they steal pp's and credit cards. I saved the MSN log. If I call PayPal and tell them about this fraud will this money be refunded to me as their was a security problem with them? Would they have to refund me this money?

Illegal activities did happen and I did lose $532 which is a good amount of money. Can PayPal or my bank refund this or fix it?

I think you're best bet is the police accually, and that not a good bet really.

But, IF you both live in the USA, or both live in the EURO-zone, there might be a slight chance of you getting some sort of vengeance/money, most likely not though.

I do think you should talk to the coppers though, they know this better then us.

You're not going to get your money back but they might be in for some legal trouble if they really were using hacked paypals / CCs.

As many people have said, contact the police.

If it does ultimately go to court, they can trace the IP's used to make the transactions.

PayPal won't do anything about it.
they know people hack accounts all the time, and there's nothing they can do about it without making the paypal experience a hastle for legit members.

They will not give you your money back, especially if you tell them it was for RSGP because according to paypal virtual items aren't real tender, therefor they are not accountable for fraud towards them.
That's a quote from the PayPal rep I talked to when I had $200 backcharged from me a few days ago.

The only true way to make it impossible to scam with PayPal is to make them pay via MoneyPak... I wrote a guide on it in the user submitted guides section.

On a side note, if you sell GP in large amounts to a person who won't do MoneyPak, put the GP on a fresh account, and physically mail them an envelope with the accounts information in it.
That way the person can pay via PayPal for goods and when they backcharge you can provide a shipping address, and tracking ID.
If the address they want you to ship to doesn't match the PayPal's shipping address, you'll know they're fake before you even get to sell the money.

You know what's worst than being chargebacked? Having the scammer send you $2200 from a hacked paypal to get your account limited.

    That fucker lol.

    Unfortunately, nothing you can do.

Stolen Credit Card's money are returned to the rightful owners or kept on hold.

You can not get back your money because it is not theirs to send you in the first place.

Talk to me on MSN, I can help you sort it out. I have some experience in these matters.

No. Don't involve police. RSGP is not a good thing to get involved with the police about.

Yes, that is one of the first steps.

    No.

They won't get caught, and it is possible to get money back.

Why would it go to court over 500$? No.

    Some good advice.

Wrong. Hope is not all lost.
