D Bones on the Rise?

Talk about somewhat bad timing.

Heres a quick little read if you are interested. I decided to come back to RS in late October to bot and make money while skilling. 2 days later, boom, Jagex announces their bot nuke and yes, boom again, there go the bots.

So at this point, I am broke with 24k so I decided, hey, why not join Sythe? So I did, bought GP, got 99 cooking for fun, got scammed twice and now I am saving up GP for 99 prayer.

Due to the bot nuke [like many items] they have spiked up in price. From 94-99 cooking I made 14M just from rocktails going up.

tl;dr How much do you think D bones will rise? They are basically sitting at 5k, I remember a couple of years back when they were from 1.8k ea all the way to 3.5k. 99 Prayer usto be 100mil, during the big botting era I am assuming even less and now its honestly probably 250mil with a gilded altar and 2 increase burners...

Any thought or useful insight?

 

95prayers costing me 245mil with frost dragon bones I bought them like 1-2 days ago when thet were 18k each and if you're going for turm don't waste your time with dragon bones I would much rather save 20hrs of my life and spend a little more time and with that extra time I can finish all the skill req's and quests for it cuz u'll only be saving 80mil 80mil=40$ 40$ divided by 20(hrs)=2$ is your live really worth 2$/hr?

I want 99 prayer, I'm not stopping at 95.

 

Personally, I would like to see a decrease in price for D-bones as I think I'd like to get 95-99 prayer just for the hell of it. I might just use ashes again if they continue to rise and I feel I might be able to troop it out with a slightly slower method.

Ashes are just a cheaper version of dbones. You should get them if you want to save money.

Ashes are slightly lower exp than dbones. Much cheaper as of now, though. Dbones shouldn't rise much higher btw.

 

Really? Thats helpful. 245m is a shitload of money. Imagine if it was only 145?

I could buy 99 range, mage, fletching, cooking, FM, etc with the leftover cash.

 

Infernal ashes are dropped by Black Demons, and give almost as much prayer experience on a gilded altar as dragon bones. You get 252xp per dragon bone and 218xp per infernal ash.

The problem now is that infernal ashes are 4.2k each! This makes them just as expensive as dragon bones, except you will have to run a few thousand more. It's not even worth it anymore sadly.. Before when the bots were here, I managed to buy all the infernal ashes I need to get turmoil, and they were only 2k each! Whereas dragon bones were a good 4k+ each, and so for having to run only 5k more ashes I ended up saving myself nearly 20M in cash.

But I just calculated all the costs, and for me to get 99 prayer right now it is going to cost me 83M with dragon bones, and 81M with infernal ashes, even though I would have to run 4k more ashes....

Now dats fucked UP

Yeah it does Before, when the bots were around, getting 99 with infernal ashes would have only cost me about 38.5M. That would literally be less than HALF of what it would cost to do dragon bones at current prices, the only drawback being I would have to run a few thousand more. I didn't realize how much ashes had risen though since the bots left... I guess D-bones are the way to go now if your poor.

And yes I will head over there right now.

 

haha, I'm poor, so it looks like I'll be stuck with the 200m+ method. I atleast hope the xp is 200k+ an hour.

No problem man. Good luck with your goal! Perhaps I will be training with you at some point in the near future when I end up buying 99 prayer I'm only 4 levels away so I might just get it over with sooner than later.

Yeah I know what you mean. Prayer used to be uber expensive and then right after bonus exp weekend in September, there was a major market crash and I snatched up 35k infernal ashes for exactly 2k each

Ashes are now like 4.2k each.

 

I got 99 prayer just before frosts were released. FML.

 

Price should go down by 1/4 or 2/4.

 

Just wait for the return of bots if you want it cheaper, theyre already crawling back
