:D Hey, I have begun construction on my clan site. At this point it has been two days since I started! Ok, when you view this, I'd prefer that you use Internet Explorer since it displays it the best. (Honestly!!! It actually displays this site better then firefox). Rate this on 1-10 scale and be critical guys!

I have also written a clan management control panel for it that you can access if you are a leader or founder. In the panel you can add/remove accounts, accept/decline applications, create/delete/assign titles, create/delete/change member's ranks. Anyway rate 1-10 please.

ALSO: If you are looking for an excellent free webhost, I recommend http://www.ulmb.com and http://www.freehostia.com

The layout could use a little work. The bevel effect, or whatever texture that you applied to the bevel is over used too much, too much for it's own good.

It also needs more content; people join sites mainly not because of the active members, but because of the content; it's what keeps the people coming to your site. At this time, you currently have 5 links on your nav, most of which don't technically count as content.

The site is really lacking in the content area, and the advice, which I give to most sites starting new like yours, to start big on content, not on flashy scripts or mods. When you start getting members, then add the flashy things. What user are shiny scripts/mods/tournaments/whatever when you have no members? That's why you should focus on content before getting members. PEople like seeing a large navigation list (not one with a size 72 font, one with lots of links) and most of which links pertain to your subject, in this case your clan, and runescape, it would be great to have a lot of content. Also, mainly if you don't have the time to write up content (you shouldn't own a site if you don't have enough time, even for content), you can look around for already written guides and contents, ask the owner for permission, and host it on your site.

I'd say, overall, for a new site, it's pretty okay, but if you're planning to go on like this, it's not good for you, or your members. Keep up like this, and you'll have weirdo noobs joining your forums, asking for admin/mod positions, that kind of thing.

One of the easiest way to get content, that i've seen, is through contests, but it might require a bit of money. Buy something expensive, like a runescape server (not sure if runescape works like that, but whatever) and make it worth like, lets say... 4000 points. Make a simple system like this: (you have enough skills to make a user/admin cp like that, I think you have the skills for this)

    25/30 points for posting
    40 points for topics
    140 points for referal
    600 points for tutorial/guide/contents
300 points for hosting a banner/text ad on a site (assuming the site has some sort of activity to make ads worthwhile)

With that kind of system up, and a prize that attracts people, your site should be bustling with members. And you can have contests like these every 2 months or so.

Excellent response cp, but there are also a few things I'd like to point out. The point is not to gain massive crowds, it is to get information out to my clan, like big meetings and such. It is also to provide them with handy scripts like my Play Runescape link. As for content, I have just said that it has been two days (now three) since I started constructing this. Most of the time has been in designing the systems rather then adding the information thus far.

After I have read through the above paragraph, it sounds like I am trying to argue which I don't want to do. I am just pointing out. =\ Thank you for your feed back, I will work on it and I most definitely agree with the over-use of bevel/texture.

Pretty sweet site. I recommend making a forum site using http://forumer.com or something then hooking up a domain to it.. like a free 1 like wut you got then put a link on the side of your site saying like "Clan Forums" then your clan can discuss stuff there. If you need any help PM me for my msn and ill gladly help.
