In Regards To "Permanent" Bans

Hello Sythe,

My Name Is 1 h 1 t. The purpose of me starting this thread is to try and put some hope into peoples' hearts who find themselves with a RS account permanently banned that they would really love to see back in-game someday. I'm not saying I've found a work-around or a hack of some kind to help get your account back, I am just saying there is hope that what happened to me, happens to everybody.

The Situation:
I once had an account permanently banned for two reasons:
First reason - I took part in a massive glitch that happened in '06
Second reason - I had an offensive username

In June of 2006, I received an offense onto my account saying I am permanently banned. I was able to use an appeal attempt but, to no surprise, failed.

Three years later (May have been sooner, I stopped playing RS so wouldn't have known), May 12, 2009 to be exact, I noticed that of my 2 offenses, one had expired and I could re-appeal the other.

I do not know why one of the offenses (the one I didn't think I'd ever be forgiven for) had simply expired, and why I obtained the ability to re-appeal the other but I never questioned any of it because I was pretty happy to have gotten the original account I had made back in the RsClassic days.

they revoked all/most of the perma-bans when they put in their new set of rules that is why u got ur account back, i think eventually they might keep doing stuff like this like every few years remove some perma-bans

 

My account was permanently banned for "Account Selling/Sharing" and the offense was "Account Hijacking" and the hacker used up the appeal and denied it.
Any hope within a few years?

 

ohh I gotcha. That's pretty sweet if they do continue to do stuff like that.

 

yeah it would be personally i don't like the idea of perma ban unless your a repeat offender at those kinds of things. but heck they do put out their rules pretty clearly and the reason why they are so harsh is like every other place in this world they have rules that MUST be followed, and if they go light on everyone they will just keep doing it

 

They have un-banned several perm-banned accounts after like 3 years, no idea why, though.
