Good idea for rules.

Most people don't read the rules when they join, so when they create an account make them read the rules before, and make them have a tick box for each rules so it shows they know the rule and agree by it. This way people can't say stuff like: I didn't know I couldn't counter scam etc. If they don't tick all the boxes it denies them, and they have to go back.

 

I believe ignorance is not an excuse. When joining the forums, you are expected to read the rules. If you did not know what you did was against the rules, it would be your fault. Infractions or bans should not be reversed either, simply because the person was ignorant.

 

Yes, you should always read the rules anyways. If you get banned because of breaking a rule, its your fault, no one else's.

 

He's not saying it's not the person's fault, he's just saying this will reduce the number of idiot's that complain afterwards "oh I didn't know about that rule". It's a pretty good suggestion but I'm not quite sure how easy/difficult it would be to implement if they decided to.

 

Each individual catagory and sometimes even individual FORUM has its own rules... If we were too compile them all onto on document we would have an absurdly long page that no-one would read... Instead we use Stickies which are marked VERY clearly to be the rules. Thus people only have to read the rules that apply to the forums they are using.

 

I only looked at the rules after I recieved an infraction. So I dont see the point. When ever im registering into a forum I just tick all the box, for all I know there could be a box of viagra being shipped to my address.
