Good/Decent first/Trainer car?

Im going to be driving very soon and i need a good training car,It wont be a car ill own for very long, just something small untill i can get used to being on the road before actually driving a much more expensive car.
I want something cheap, small and easy to use.
Ill only use it for maybe 6 months-Year or however long it will take me before i get comfortable driving.
Any suggestions?
Also im intrested in a datsun 300ZX turbo 1984 edition,My uncle has one laying around my grandmas second house that he never uses(The last time he used it was 10 years ago)
If anyone knows howmuch those are and if they're worth it,Include that too.

Hmm… I would personally recommend driving a Honda Civic.

I saw the title and the first thing I thought was, "I should recommend a Civic."

Old Civics are quality, easy to drive, long-lasting cars that don't cost too much.

$500-$1800 for a 80s to 90s civic. They are actually gaining in price for the most part as they are fuel efficent and tanks (plus beaners love them). They are good little cars that are easy to get parts for should you fuck it up. 80s - 90s toyotas are great too, friend just hit 325k miles on his 4 banger late 80s camry. Thats fucking epic. Pretty much any jap 4 banger you can pick up with less than 200k miles for >$1200 would be a good start granted its mechanically sound.

I learned on a 89' f150. I dont suggest it, a pick up can be pretty dodgy when raining or on slick roads. Let alone a lot of older ones are real easy to lose the ass end (fish tail) if you have got nothing in the bed. Learn and get comfortable with a small pos 4 banger, a honda or toyota. People who buy nice cars (or rather their parents who buy them) are idiots. I also suggest learning to drive standard ASAP. It saves you a lottttttt on gas if you drive much and helps keep you focused driving as opposed to day dreaming or fucking with your phone ect.

Edit: dont get that 300z . Its too much car for a beginner, your first car should NOT be a sports car.. especially one that can smoke its tires.

It would be a lot easier if we know where you lived. Like for me Up in Minnesota a good all around car is a Buick Regal. Shortest version they make, has a decent wait and clearance for snow/wet conditions, 3.6L engine which in my opinion is pretty much bulletproof. I have a 2000 buick regal LS that my father bought me for $4,000 all said and done from a used car dealership. I bet you could find one for less If you bought it from a person. I haven't had to do much to it (mass air control sensor $110 simple plug in do it your self, and recently brake lines had a leak and cost me $150) and the brakes are only because the car was in Florida for 10 years and they started to rust.

Also modern looking for being going on 14 years old and have some nice features. But yea, couldn't give a real good answer without location and budget.

I live in california (Beaner country) Budget around 2500. I know about the honda its extrmely common but im wondering if there is other decent cars i didnt know about. I doubt be able to get the datsun but if i can manage a deal or he gives it to me,id never drive the 300zx as a first, even second car.Itd be like a trophy to own a beutiful car like that. But its manual and turbocharged (Special edition) Id imagine itd be far too dificult for me but im in love with its beutiful body/Nice interior.
