Drop Shipping - Scam or Not?

I'm considering purchasing some items from various drop shipping manufacturers.

Does anyone have knowledge/experience with these type of things? Are they worth it? Are their prices just misleading?

 

It's hard to tell if it's a scam without telling us where you're getting the products from.

A site that I've used for dropshipping, and a lot of other people, is dealextreme.com. Most of the things on that site are bootlegs, but the prices are great and perfect for dropshipping. You can charge shipping yourself, as they don't, for extra money. All their products come from hong kong though, so shipping will take forever.

I wouldn't do it. Do not do anything electronic because most likely it's fake. Samething with clothes, handbags, wallets, etc.

Do something like DVD box sets. Buy them from china and resale on ebay or amazon. You can make great profit this way.

don't buy these crap items as told above, try and buying from other country's where it's lots cheaper and let them ship to you, than resell to mates/e-bay or something

 

Yeah, I hate visiting because I always find tons of things to buy each time. Luckily it's cheap.

 

I've been unlucky enough to have to pay customs fees for some items, that were bought from Hong Kong. So that is something you should beware of, try not to buy expensive items.

 

Yeah, I ordered a laptop cooling pad from deal extreme and it took FOREVER to get to Canada. I basically forgot I even ordered it then one day it came in the mail and I was like "what the fuX", but it was a decent product for the money I paid.

 

Heh yeah, it's so cheap I can't stop.

 

Can I ask how long 'forever' is?
