World Cup Betting Thread + Competition [Win up to $50!]

Hey guys,

I've been betting a fair bit throughout the last football (Soccer for you Americans -.-) season, so I've decided to create a thread showing my bets for the coming World Cup. I'll likely post them a day or two in advance, and if you see any which you like the look of you can give it a punt too. I'll tally up the total staked and the total returns so I can see at the end if it's been a success. It would also be great to see what you guys are putting for your bets and see who you're backing, so please share your thoughts and opinions with everyone

Normally I prefer to bet on less mainstream games such as Serie B/Ligue 2/the English Football leagues but with the world cup on our doorstep, it's impossible to ignore it.

Despite the World Cup effectively being Brazil's to lose, I've got a funny feeling about Germany this year and I believe they were unfortunate to lose to Italy at the last Euro's and have the quality and depth to win the World cup. Some of my bets are with Coral, who are offering money back on losing bets if Brazil or Argentina win the World Cup, so I decided a punt on Germany and Spain as this covers me from the 4 main angles in terms of favorites.

COMPETITION

At the end of the World Cup, I will donate some of my winnings to YOU!

To be in for a chance of winning, all you need to do is take a guess at who you think is going to:

1) Win the World Cup, be the runner up.
2) Be the top scorer in the World Cup, how many goals they will score.

One prediction per person, each person may guess at both parts 1) and part 2).
Entries close after the first round of each group game (17th June = Last Entry)


If someone successfully guesses the winner of the world cup AND the runner up, I will donate $25 to your name. If someone successfully guesses the top goalscorer AND how many goals they score, I will again donate $25 to their name. If no one able to win either of these, I will draw a name from all entrants who successfully guessed the winner of the World Cup and donate $10 on their name. I will then draw a name from all the entrants who successfully guessed the top scorer of the world cup and guess $10 on their name. There will be ONE winner from each section.

If there is no winner and no one is able to guess anything correctly, I will randomly draw a name from all the participants in this thread and donate $10 to their name.

Yep, expired at like... 12:50. I got 20 quid on in store and a further tenner online. Need Nadal to win today for a 30 quid 4 fold to land as well!

Well fair enough. Still got plenty on for now and there will be a lot more going on very soon. Nadal win should be fairly straightforwards, him winning his 9th Roland Garros won me a nice £17 as it was too tempting at just under evens. Best of luck with those! I'm on that as well. If Brazil wear yellow I pick up £30, if they win £60, and if Nadal wins £54. Could be a nice day!

Well, don't know who could have predicted that. Shockers from the entire Spain defense proved costly, warning signs coming with their inability to maintain their line allowing RVP to score his awesome header. Spain cost the £20 freebet, along with the Friday treble and a new £5 bet placed today so that hits hoe quite hard.

Will update the thread after tomorrow as there are a couple of bets falling on the Chile game and some more decided by tomorrow's games. On to the next one!
