Need advice on friendship

Hi guys, I need some advice, first of all, sorry for the possible spelling mistakes, here is the thing: I was going to go on a trip with 3 of my closest friends, I have a house near the beach and we were going to spend 3-4 days there.

Some weeks ago I had a surgery I needed in order to be able to breath better and since it I am limited on my activities; I cant be exposed to the sun, cant play sports and cant be in the water, this is for just a month after the surgery. So all my friends knew we were going to go to my house in like a week, but we havent spoken about it that much tbh, so today I asked them if they still wanted to go even if I cant do a lot of things due to the surgery and after a couple hours one of them replied me "I am speaking for all, but we decided we dont want to go there, hope you arent mad". I am kinda upset and feel they might got mad at me due to my health right now and my limited activities.

Any advice on what I should do/why are they being like that?

We have been planning this activity since december, and the surgery was something that came spontaneous in january, I had the opportunity to do it on 7th january so I decided to go for it since I am on vacations right now and have no other things around like college or work but they told me like "Why would you tell us to go to your house and then you came up with the surgery?"

 

Why would they want to go on vacation with you if you can't do anything with them? Basically you can't be outside? If they go, its not like you are even hanging around them when they go outside? And when they do go outside you will only get depressed because you can't.

 

Just replan the event man you dont wantnto go there and waste a perfectly good day with friends replan on a day your health is better, they were just being good friends. I wouldnt want my friend to tag along with me to a beach and not be able to play in the water or come outside it saves you the dissapointment. So when your back in good health just redo retry planning the event.

 

Personally I wouldn't want to go if I was you, it wont be any fun cooped up in a house. Schedule it for summer and I'n sure they'll be up for it.

 

We're on summer where I live, we are a group of close friends but I just dont want things to be awkward as they were kinda excited of going to the beach

 

It wont be awkward at all, just schedule it for a month or two ahead and they can still look forward to it

 

Why would it be awkward? They can just go out to the beach without you? Or are you expecting them to stay in with you?

I went to the movies with them today and everything seemed great as always, one of them mentioned the topic of the beach but he explained they were just trying to be good friends and knew I wouldnt be able to have as much fun as them due to my health status right now. This can be officialy closed.
