    problem with new RAM

hi, i just got 2 new ram modules (both 1 GB) i put them into my computer and the little tab thing clicked and all, i turned on my computer and went to the BIOS screen to see if it worked and it said that i had 2 GB, i was happy but when i went to properties on my computer it said that i only had 1024MB (1 GB)...what im wondering is if this is affecting the speed and how i can change this to 2 GB. thanks ahead of time!

Are you sure both sticks were fully put in?

Sounds like 1 might be off track.

Are you sure your motherboard can hand;e 2 GB RAM?

Did you insert them into the first and third slot? A common mistake is to put them right next to each other.

I'm assuming that you already checked out that your RAM is compatible and your motherboard has the capacity for dual channel RAM.
