    How many miles to run per a day/week?

    I was thinking how many miles I should run per a day, and how many times should I run per a week?

    I was planning to do all my morning runs during the AM , around 5am and maybe once a week, do a 1 hour hike ( 5 miles )

    I just completed insanity about 95%. I got sick and had the stuffy nose so I gave up on my last week but doesn't really matter.

    I mainly want to focus on endurance because it could be useful in my life such as escaping from someone or for survival but who knows. I did insanity and the warm ups were so intense for month 1 and month 2. I read somewhere on forums on a different site where it should help. I haven't been active for about 1-2 weeks or almost 3. I figure, I can start now.

    How many miles to run per a day/week?

    I used to run about 4 miles every morning before school, but I dropped off with my running about 6 months ago.
    I have a friend who runs about 13-15 a day though, captain of the cross country team.

    I would just run until you can't run anymore, take a 10 minute breather while walking, then keep on running until your legs literally wont move. Do this every day for a week, then measure that distance, then every week try and run a mile more.

    How many miles to run per a day/week?

    i know this sounds stupid but say you wanted to do a 3 mile run. do you keep running until you need to stop, and catch a breath and keep running til 3 miles or you keep going and taking no rests until you meet your goals for the day ( 3 mile nonstop then break )

    Well when I ran I was able to go 3 miles without stopping. If you cant however, then stopping for a minute or two at the most won't hurt, but keep walking.

    the park i run through is about 8 miles long, about 16 miles per monday wed and friday - 48 a week

    How many miles to run per a day/week?

    I used to only run 2-3 K's per day each afternoon. So that's probably only 1-2 miles. It kept me fit and along with my regular football training and games I could get to 13.1 on a beep test.

    I just started with running, I run on a treadmill almost everyday. I'm a beginner so I can only do like 1,5KM in 10 minutes.

    I recommend not running on a treadmill. If you have the environment to go out and run, do so.

    back when i acc did excersie, a guy from the army i ran with did 13 miles a day, 4 days a week. with casual jogging every day.

    also soft ground is best to run on, don't run on roads etc it will ruin your knees in the end.

    I do not run, but I bike approximately 35-50 miles per week. It sounds like a lot but it's really not.

    How many miles to run per a day/week?

    Right, first of all you should find a good surface to run on. If you plan on running on asphalt, then you need to buy some seriously good shoes or you could easily get a shin splint which is exactly what you're trying to avoid.
    Next, I would start small if I were you, 3 miles sounds ideal or as little as you can do without stopping. Remember to fight the urge to stop, once you beat it the rest of the run will be much easier.
    Thirdly, when you start to get better at it, it is good to focus on the time.

    How many miles to run per a day/week?

    Almond, I recommend at max of 4 miles a day but vary your speeds throughout the jog. Sprint for a minute or two at a time tops. Your heart rate will grow accustomed to speeding up and slowing down and improves your overall endurance.
