    Believe I broke my iPhone

A friend threw water at me with my phone in my lap, and I'm afraid some got into the little apple sync slot, even though I had a place holder piece in it. The iPhone now thinks its always on some device that its not compatible with. So it wont make any noise unless I actually plug it into an iHome or something. I cant control the volume since it think its on a device (and the device normally has the volume controls). I've heard of taking out batteries and putting them in rice, however, with iPhones, I don't believe you can take out the batter. Plus I dont think the problem is with the battery to begin with.

Any ideas? Bought this 3GS when it first came out unlocked for about 500$'s, and it's served me well for 3 years with no problems. Hate for a little water from a dumb friend to due it in.

Put the whole phone in rice. By the sounds of it, the battery didn't get damaged, just some water damage. Putting it in rice should be fine.
