I sort of hate how EVERYTHING is integrating with Facebook. We might as well rename the internet to Facenet or some shit. I won't use the feature mainly because I'm quit atm but even if I were to come back I don't see this as being all that useful. My Facebook is much more likely to be hacked than my RS account.

 

Integrating Facebook into this game is a big problem IMO... Those who get ratted and have no idea how they did or if they are, could potentially signing themselves up for some bad news.

Think about it, they not only have acess to what you type, they also know who you are, where you live etc. Personal details. I know for most people they don't think it's that bad but if the person was skilled enough I'm sure they oils do alot more damage with your Facebook bs your runescape account..

All together, bad update.

 

I would personally not even link my facebook account with Runescape.

It's extremely easy to gain access to one's FaceBook page, and FB doesn't care.

If people from the former &t Army saw the potential $ they could make off of stealing stuff from people in RS, all you people that tied your FB to your RS account would be fucked.

I can only imagine the money Zuckerburg is giving Jagex for this move. To top it off he openly admits to not caring about you or your information staying private.

Linking RS to your real life can have a lot of negative impacts, as I noted above about the former &t Army. Now someone doesn't just steal your gold, they get your personal info to use for real life fraud too.

EDIT: LMFAO I WENT TO CHECK A FORUM I USED TO FREQUENT THAT HAS A LOT OF FORMER &t Army MEMBERS AND THEY ARE ALREADY TALKING ABOUT IT.

 

Those idiots at Jagex should just implement my idea for the USB dongles if they wanted security.

I hope you aren't under the misconception that a Mac cannot get a virus. Even someone's precious iPhone can get a virus.

It's no secret that FaceBook is insecure. People's FaceBook's get hacked all the time, even if they do not have an infected computer.

A lot of people will be able to use this to their advantage in multiple ways.

Not only do they get the motivation of hacking your FB for RSGP/items, they get the added bonus of your personal information off your FB page, which can easily be used for fraudulent activities irl.
