Working way to record league footage?

Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone has had any success in recording footage of their league games. I've tried a couple of different methods and for whatever reason none of them have worked for me.

The first thing that I tried was called "LoL recorder" or "League Recorder" or something like that and it was supposed to run in the background and automatically record all my gameplay. When I would try to playback it'd give me an error. After uninstalling and re-installing a few times and messing with settings I gave up on it.

The second thing I tried was Camtasia, but for some reason it made the my cursor blink the entire time so I decided I didn't want to record with it.

I think I even tried hypercam 3 as well but the quality was super low so I wasn't happy with it.

Anyone have any ideas for me? What would the best way to record games be?

 

Have you tried Fraps? Also why doesn't LoL recorder work, are you on windows or mac?

 

I haven't tried fraps, I can give it a shot. How is the quality?

I'm using windows 7, not sure why it doesn't work correctly for me. I can't remember the exact error anymore but essentially it told me there was an issue opening the recording / I'd click it and absolutely nothing would happen.

 

Did you try LoL replay while spectator mode was down?

I know it's been down at times lately so if you did it then it wont work as it operates through the spectator mode.

 

My friend just uses LoL Replay. Fraps is another option but you'll probably have to sacrifice quality to use it.

 

It was just a normal 5v5 blind pick, so I don't believe you have control over it. Is there no way to record those using it then?

 

Try bandicam? Pretty east to use and there's a site for free key gen. Without it you would have a watermark and 10 mins of recer vid only. You can torrent it to but I prefer to look it up

 

Could you PM me a link to the website you were referring to? I'm willing to try alternatives to camtasia and hypercam or get the stupid league recorder to work. I just want to record my placements as I play them and don't want it to mess up.

 

OBS? I stream all my games so its recorded automatically thru there.

 

I have african upload speeds, that probably isn't going to be an option for me. My ping is already bad enough as it is.

 

Can u get the exact error message LoLreplay is giving you? I played a game earlier to test it and it worked fine.
Not sure about fraps' quality since i don't use it, but i know it's an option.

 

I just get a "bug splat error report" and the "advanced details" doesn't tell you anything remotely helpful. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling and nothing seems to work

edit: Here is a bit more detail about what happens. Basically it tells me that the LoL playback is of a newer version than my client and asks if I want to update. If I hit yes it closes and nothing happens. If I hit no it says "downloading cache" or something, then "installing league.exe" then closes and then looks like its about to open then "bug splat - error report." I've tried uninstalling every file on my computer, then re-installing from the website and it makes no difference. I wish it would work for me, but so far it just doesn't seem to like me.
