first he leaked secret documents like the little traitor he is. then gets sentenced to 35 years in prison for that (((he should have gotten life without parole))) and now he wants change his gender and be a female from now on?? give me a BREAK

Zeus, he leaked documents to show serious flaws in the military campaign, including footage of innocent civilians being killed? He didn't go and leak them to Iraq etc. I don't agree with what he did but I can understand why. If the guy was mentally unstable before being sent on duty, your military is somewhat to blame.

I feel like he wants to become a woman so prison won't be as rough for him. If he believes becoming a woman will allow him access to a all woman prison, he's sadly mistaken.

 

This happened way before he was found guilty.

I think this will be his way of attempting to argue he was discriminated against by the Army in some fashion to reduce his sentence.

 

If I remember correctly, the transgender was announced when the first news release of the information leakage was published.

 

He already basically argued that during the court marshal.

First, they weren't just documents, but the documents that were leaked exposed a multitude of war crimes that the U.S. has committed, and furthermore there has yet to be any creditable claim that these documents hurt anyone (outside of the political realm of course.) Alongside these war crimes that were exposed, not one person has been held liable for them.

Second of all, he was convicted for a variety of offences under the Espionage Act. The most serious of the charges, Aiding the Enemy, he was not convicted of (it also carries a possible sentence of death.)

Prior to his trial, he was detained for around 3 years, in harsh conditions and tortured.

Furthermore, if someone wants to identify as a female, it's their personal choice and in no way effects you. Saying so, you can shut the hell up about it.
