What is Mod Script?

So forgive me if I'm wrong but to my knowledge reflection works by looking at the game data, BCEL works by injecting into/altering the data, so what is Mod Script?

I've been told Mod Script is what iDung runs off of. I've heard it's a step safer than BCEL but noone has really ever gone into detail how it works or why it might be considered safer. Speculate below

I dont know why it would be considered safer... the script depends on the scripter and the client.

 

Well lets say the script is iDung and the scripter is whoever scripted it

 

Where'd you hear it uses a different technology than BCEL?

 

iDung is programmed in ByteCode Editing. (BCEL for short)
there's no such thing as modscript.

 

Well the only search results I found after a quick google shows me a script in the RSbot loader and after a very quick scan of the source code I have no idea what it is/does nor have I heard of iDung using it.

 

Powerbot used to use BCEL, now it uses ModScript. Unless it switched back after Jacmob left, it uses Modscript.

Tbh I'm not sure why it would or would not be safer. BCEL was used correctly with the client so the client itself would not be detected, so it makes little sense for them to switch.

iDung uses a loader to keep the script in Kiko + Shadowmoose's hands, so competitors cant copy the code... perhaps thats why its considered safer?

I've personally never heard of 'modscript'

 

I'm still just sayin "mod script" is a nickname for BCEL to make it sound better to dumb people.

modification script would mean the exact same thing as ByteCode Editing.

 

It's slightly different, or else ToshiXZ and other Powerbot users would not have called me a complete retard when I said it ran on BCEL around the release of v2.0

 

Powerbot uses ASM, not BCEL anymore. From what I've seen, mod script holds all the information about what to modify in the client.
