    Getting back in shape

Weigh day was yesterday and I weighed in at 84,4 KG, which is 0,5 KG less than last week. Not an insane amount of progress, but still pretty good.

I did three 5K runs and I am improving a bit on time, but nothing too crazy. Would like to get it done under half an hour. I am still planning on going for 10k runs as well, however I already feel my ankles after 5k, so I don't want to overdue it and be out of the running for a few weeks. So will continue on doing this and hopefully soon increase to the 10k runs.

Other than that not too much to mention this week, but hoping to make a bit more progress the upcoming week than previous week.

    Getting back in shape

Weighed in at 83,2KG today, which is 1,2KG less than last week, putting the total weight loss at 12,8KG.

Last week I went for a few runs, but one of them in particular went great. My ankles and knees didn't bother me at all so I had a great session. I ran a little over 9KM with a pace a little over 9KM an hour. This morning I did reach the 10K (10,3) which took 71 minutes. The speed wasn't that good, but from here I can hopefully improve timewise and do the 10K within one hour soon.

Didn't go to the gym as much last week as I had hoped to, but will pick that up more this week.

I am starting to notice a lot of progress as in my face is less bloated, more veins are showing during workouts and abs are becoming more and more defined.

My next check-up is in two weeks and I think and hope I will have good progress to show for again.

I will not reach the set goal by the 6th of January, but will keep it up to see how far I did get. I will then set a new goal after the 6th of January for similar results, but at a later time.

Weighed in today at 81,9KG, which is 1,3KG lighter than last week. Total weight loss now at 14,1KG. Not a lot of updates in regards to the running or gym sessions. Unfortunately gyms are now closed again where I live, so I won't be able to hit the gym. I do have some dumbells at home, so I can continue to use those in the meantime and keep running.

The monthly check-ups are at the gym, so I won't be able to attend the one that was scheduled for next week unfortunately, but on the bright side it'll be longer between my last check-up and the next, so the difference will be greater.

Definitely doing something right here! Awesome to see you're looking after yourself. Keep up with the solid training and updates.

Gyms being closed is a pain so don't let it deter you from your current regime. Honestly it'll probably be the hardest time to keep discipline so if you make it through the other side, you'll hit your goal in a matter of time no issues!

Weigh day again! Had a rough week training wise, lacked a lot of energy and slacked a bit on training as well. These weeks happen, but it's important to pick-up again. Weighed in at 81 KG today, which puts met at a weight loss of 15 KG so far, which I see as a great milestone.

Today was supposed to be my monthly check-up moment, but since the gym is closed, it won't take place unfortunately. Very curious on what the results would be in terms of body fat percentages etc.

I am now only 6 KG away from my initial goal weight wise, which I should be able to reach within a month or 2. Might get there a bit quicker, but we'll see.

Thanks man, really appreciate the message. Found it tought to stick to the training this week, but it's indeed important to keep going, especially with the gym being closed for several more weeks to come.

Crazy happy seeing you hit your goals. And you seem to be taken it an attainable pace, and you already realize that progress is not linear and can have ups and downs! Keep it up man!

    Getting back in shape

Didn't post an update last week, but will add it now. I weighed 81,8KG at the 30th of December, which is 0,8KG heavier than the week before. This was to be exptected during the holidays. I barely ran or worked out and ate more than usual and also had some alcoholic beverages which I almost completely cut out for nearly 2 months. Didn't really watch my diet during New Year's Eve and weekend after. This morning I weighed 82,1KG. This isn't one of my regular weigh days, but Thought I'd include it to show the weight gain during the holidays.

This morning I picked up where I left off and went for a ran in the morning. I am watching my diet closely today and will continue to do so for the coming weeks. These are the points I normally find the hardest; to pick up after days/weeks of letting go. This time it feels different though. I think one of the main reasons is that I have come really far and it would be such an incredible waste not to continue and not to hold on. With that in mind I am confident that I can continue and will reach my goal within the next two months or so.

I also ordered some fitness gear to continue working out at home, however I would love a barbell set and more dumbells. These items however became really expensive due to the limited supply and insane demand due to COVID.

Thanks man, really appreciate your message. My message above really confirms this. It's important to be able to enjoy holidays or special occasions and let go from time to time as long as you will be able to pick up again afterwards.

Next update will be in two days on my weekly weigh day.

My personal opinion are that fat burners really do nothing for you but affect you long-term. Personally, I would get off of the ASAP as you can still achieve your goals without the need for them.
Right now for myself I am 73.5KG but I am not sure of my body fat percentage. I never have checked out what I am at; I am however happy with my body physique as of now.
With the gyms being shut and being restricted to doing home workouts, I have lost the motivation to go as hard as I normally would which has definitely changed my body slights but I will get back to it shortly when the gyms open back up. It makes it even more shitty that the weather has been terrible and the paths are constantly iced over so running isn't entirely an option to take up right now.

Best of luck on getting back in shape though, I wish you all the best!

Thanks brother! Good on you that got sober and are on your weight-loss journey! Wish you all the best and hope you reach all your goals. Keep at them and if think of it as a marathon, not a sprint!

They are basically caffeine pills, which aren't too good, but if not taken in crazy amount I believe not too bad either. If I am wrong, feel free to let me know as well! Hope you will be able to stick to working out whenever you can at home or outdoors!

I must admit that I am now struggling to keep at it with working out at home and running just like it sounds you are. If I work out less, eating healthy become more difficult as well.. I can't wait for the gyms to open and to train all muscle groups propperly and keep at it.

I am now maintaining my weight gaining and losing some every few days, currently at 82KG during my last weigh day. So put on a little bit, but hope to see gyms open again in a week or 2, however when it doesn't happen within 2 weeks, I will need to create a work out regime for a couple of weeks until they open.

Once when I was with a personal trainer they had advised me not to bother with them because it makes your heart race at a faster pace it can cause heart problems. As you said though as long as they are taken in moderation it is safe practice!

I find I am in the same position as you however; if I don’t get a good workout my eating normally ends up involving sweets which is a no go. When my girlfriend is with me too it always involves sweets as much as we are devoted to our fitness. :(

It won’t be long till hopefully some normality is restored from Covid and we can all get back to normal(ish) lives and keep on track with fitness!

you said you were disappointed because of this -> "body fat percentage of 24,4%. The average for a male is approximately 15%."

Does it really matter if averagely males have 15% body fat (which i doubt is even true tbh)? Do you like what you see, when you look at yourself in the mirror? That is the most important thing.
