These are only the testing benchmarks not my own, but it might help you come to a conclusion.

The AMD is far superior all round. Driver updates are fairly consistant and unless you are playing large open world games or heavily modded games, the 2GB VRAM will be sufficient. With the 280x you should be able to handle all games on ultra, bar poorly optimized games such as Watch Dogs. As for the guy saying new next-gen games are using more and more VRAM, that's bullshit. Most games are getting better optimization and are using less VRAM as efficeincy is increasing. There are only a handful of games which require nearer 3GB of VRAM to avoid tearing, and due to complaints video games producers will be keen to better optimize all their future games as the complaints have had a large impact on sales.

It also appears that, when presented by someone who actually knows what they are talking about and has actual experience with the products, it really doesn't matter what anyone says anyways because apparently the op will see them as wrong.
I don't need to post benchmarks for you to look at, I know the differences first hand. Telling me to post benchmarks shows me that you're too lazy to educate yourself about what you're buying, and you have no business buying it.

Look at the comparison graphs on the first link from notebookcheck. In nearly each one you'll see that the desktop 760 comes around 20, sometimes around 30% behind. In a link posted earlier by some halfwit, one of the links on the thread linked to another thread SPECIFICALLY about how the 760 can't compete with the 770 and 280x(which are meant to compete against one another)

The op sounds like the never wanted anyone's opinion anyway. He seems to want the inferior card...and that's the end of the thread. I wouldn't piss my money away on it, but who are any of us to speak out about it.

Obviously the 280X. It's basically a rebrand of the older 7970 GHz Edition but with a few differences, like it has a faster clock speed. So 7970 GHz Edition/R9 280X > GTX 760.

You made a thread asking for opinions on what GPU you should get, and when you got one from him all you did was disagree and argue with him about how he was wrong. If you think you know everything (which it clearly seems the case here) why not just buy the card YOU think is best?

I would go with the evga cuz evga is nice and the card is good also amazon's customer support is easier to deal with than newegg's imo

 

The second one by far mate, more powerful and better performance.
