Halo 3 and why not everyone is a 50

Halo 3
When Halo 3 launched it immediatly became the most competitive game of all time. Never before has their been this many players all playing the same game for the sole reason of getting better at it. But there are alot of Generals out there who would make you believe that because they are higher in rank they are better players.

This is not nessicarily true.


How competition has affected the players.
Halo 3 is a game you play to win in MM. Theres really no other goal. Now, because just about everyone thinks this way in Halo 3 ranked MM, ever since its release, people have been bettering themselves to earn the title of a Halo 3 General.

Now lets pause right here. When Halo 3 first came out it was much harder to push the envelope other than just being pretty good. So people with good Halo 2 rank, would have a pretty decent chance at becoming Generals. However, as the months passed, brand new ways of fighting emerged that pushed the envelope of Halo 3 competitive play. This means everyone is constantly getting better.


Everyones getting better so what?
So this means because everyone is in a constant state of improvement, in one way or another, that the average skill level is increasing. However, because everyone is increasing, this redifines the skill of each rank. So you could be getting better, and loose to people who are of the same skill, and not move up or down in rank.


The short sweet to the point awnser.
The reason not everyone is a General is because a guy who got his 50 one year ago and never played until today would get crushed by a New General who got it in our current time period. Why? Because skill is allways getting higher.

Generals are Generals because at one point in time they were at the top of the skill level. But others Brigs, Colones or even Commanders can be rapping and not be moving up, because everyone is competeing for the same title.
