Rapier vs whip staking?

Has anyone actually crunched the numbers if the rapier is better then tentacle staking? Taking in account for poison

 

Rapier is definitely better then tentacle at duel arena, hence why people try scamming with the rapier.

 

It's luck lmfao. Alot of people lost Bills because they thought rapier was much better. But stats wise, rapier is indeed better.

 

please tell me you did not just say its luck. there is no such thing, there is only probability

The one thing people didn't calculate when stating that Rapier is much better for staking than tentacle is the poison effect. There's a reason why all of the RWT Odd stakers and and hasta scammers have not transitioned to a Rapier, the math proves its >1% odds better. Basically means that if you do 100 stakes, you're supposed to win 50.7 The math: A tent has a 25% chance to inflict poison on every hit, with the poison ticking every 15 second intervals. The tentacle poison inflicts 4 damage, which can be calculated as HP odds in a stake. Every HP level is worth 1.01% winning odds. If you calculate the length of a stake, with 99hp being the standard and hits being 12.5 on average(random roll of 0-26) and the chance to miss a hit due to accuracy(pretty low), an average stake lasts 9 hits. There is therefore, a 94% chance the poison hits in a stake. Odds rapier vs tent: Rapier gives a max hit which is 4.5% better. Tent has a (.94*4.04)= 3.8% poison advantage. Therefore, if you did 100 stakes, you are still expected to win 50 stakes out of 100. (50.7).

 

Let me tell you my own statistics.

If you use the tentacle for the first hit and assuming you posion your opponent, your odds are 56% excluding pid.

If you don’t use the tentacle and you camp rapier, and you DONT get poisoned throughout the stake, your odds are 55.6%.

If you use the rapier, and you DO get venomed, or you use the tent and you don’t hit. Hence he isn’t venomed, your odds are 51-52%.

Personally, I did 25 stakes to test out the rapier + hasta.
Won 19 lost 6.
Keep in mind I did get lucky, I should’ve done a larger sample size but my main got banned.

 

Sorry about your main lol. Jagex is ramping up their game. I think the math is more complex then that considering poison could hit multiple times

 

WAY too small of a sample to draw any statistics. Thousands of simulated stakes are required for statistics.
