General 07 botting queries

Hey guys,

I haven't been around for a long time, and indeed haven't actively played RS since about 2013. I've recently returned and created a personal account to get back into the game, and just curious as to the state of botting at the moment? I've noticed that some common botting sites are no longer with us, and others have popped up again in their place, but what has really changed?

For me, personally, I'm looking to invest in a few scripts for use on personal accounts rather than goldfarming. Is this still a reasonable thing to do or is the likelihood of a ban too high currently? Obviously I'm aware that one should never bot an account they aren't willing to lose, but am wanting as low risk as possible. Is anyone able to recommend what client I should use, if there's any I should actively avoid, and good private scripts you can recommend, etc.?
