    Gap Year?!

Well basically, I finish college this year, and I fancy a cheeky gap year before University, so I was just wondering what you would all recommend, I am from the UK, quite well travelled and I don't fancy the USA just because of the drinking age.

So if this was you, where would you go?

Money isn't really an issue, however I would like to work on my gap year for the experience etc.

Sweden? Have you ever been there? Wonderful country, I've been to loads of different countries but it's by far my favorite. I'm from the UK too.

    Gap Year?!

I'm not really looking to travel in Europe as I have been to many of the countries before, I found Sweden just a little boring, I'm looking for fun and lively really.

What is the drinking age there? The last thing I want to do is have waited till I'm 18 and Legal in the UK, then go to Canada and have to wait even longer.

    Canada is 19.

What languages do you speak? If you're planning on working, you should probably know the local language.

I don't even know what BBoy is lol. Japan is more tempting that Korea though.

I'd be pretty much as well camping in my back garden.

BVI is a great idea! Was leaning towards Australia/New Zealand but now I'm not so sure.

    Gap Year?!

I am assuming a "gap year" is a year you are taking off between college & university?

I think traveling with some friends is a fantastic idea. You should make a list of places you have wanted to visit, or places that are beautiful, interesting, and have a lot of history, and then plan out a trip.

Another great idea for a gap year is to try and get some work experience related to the things you have been studying, and the career you are pursuing. Be aggressive and send some letters to some companies in related fields, or go knocking on their doors. Explain your situation, and that you are passionate and motivated about what you are studying and you want to learn as much as you can during your year off. A lot of companies would eat that up and LOVE somebody coming to them eager for experience like that, and it could end up being a completely invaluable experience that has a huge impact on your life!

    Best of luck mate :)

    Gap Year?!

Yeah it is a year, but there are only really two of us with the money/desire to take the plunge, but I'm really up for it. I can't wait. I really plan on going abroad to one country for around 6 months, preferably somewhere far from home, however I think sending the letter to the company is a genius idea and I will probably give it a try.

After the six months abroad me and my mate then plan on returning to England for 1-2 months and then going out to Ibiza being club reps for a few months before finally going to Uni. I think all the culture etc will do me good plus I will have an amazing time. Thanks a lot for the advice mate.

New Zealand sounds like a nice place, but I might want to do a tour of Europe if you are up for exploring all over.

Australia is an amazing place to go. You could do a round trip of Australia and visit Sydney, Brisbane, Great Barrier Reef, Melbourne, Perth, Northern Territory and heaps of other places. There is so much to do here and would be worth your while.

Australia is a great place to go, its so different to the UK and you should like it over there. They speak English so there is no problem here and you shouldn't find it that hard to get a job.
