Gaming Section Rework - Voting Stage

Option 1:

The idea behind this one is to have one, active section. If certain games feel as if they're taking over the section, appropriate sub-sections can be added post-merge.

Option 2:

All platforms split, with an extra section for misc. items. Might not work with certain games being on multiple platforms.

Option 3:

Option 4:

Similar to the current layout, but condeses Xbox gaming into one section.

Option 5:

This layout works well for those with specific games in mind, and for console gamers though splits PC games up into multiple sections.

#1 - let it form naturally if need be

 

Voted my own,(#6), I feel like its the best way to go if we aren't going to condense to one section. It's a better way to organize it for sure.

 

Agree with Roary completely, let the sections come into place dependant on demand and use.

 

Voted for option #4 even though that its similar to what we have. Condensing the sections into one just seems like a mess to me/harder for people to find what they're looking for. I think #4 covers the most bases.

edit: If we went with number one then there would immediately be suggestions for new sections and we would just end up with something like #4 anyway, I think its better to start covering all our bases and if something doesn't get any activity then we can do away with it.

League of Legends should have it's own discussion section, based on it's current activity, and it's status in the gaming world. Also based on how fast and how much more it's growing here, it would be silly, more so counter-productive to dismiss it's own section.

It may seem bias coming from me, but I assure you it's not, just based of facts.

I voted #7. If not 7, I'd go with 3.

@Ame, why should active sections be purged into starting from scratch? I can guarantee you, users that come to Sythe.org solely for LoL, will not, more so, would have no idea where to find anything LoL related if it were to be hidden between everything else, i.e option 1.

 

I was between 4 and 3....

I don't mind Livestreams staying there, though I don't think it'll be active.
LoL is decently active... 666 threads =].
PoE... get rid of that... put that into ORPG. Strat and Handheld can be put into Misc... so yeah I agree with 4 after some thought to myself, except with one difference:

Also, the LoL was granted it's own section due to its promise and activity, which has only increased, and will only increase even further. (I suggested that, I'll try find it for reference.)

 

I voted for option 2 but option 1 is just as acceptable.

Looking at it now, i agree with Roary. The section needs to form itself, it can evolve over time if need be.

 

#6 - Looks more organized and League of Legends deserves its own sub-forum.

I voted for option one simply because I agree that it needs to form on its own.

If we could have option one with sub sections inside of the general area for LoL and WoW I would be happy.

 

Option one strikes me as a very bad idea because it's going to get dominated by League of Legends. LoL is quite active among the community, and any other games' threads will most likely be pushed down the page quickly.

I voted for #7 because LoL is so active; the consoles can certainly fit in one section each and Minecraft having a subsection seems wise to me.

 

Yeah I like option #7 as well. I never really paid much attention to the Gaming Section in the past so I never really realized how much attention it needed.

 

Option one would be a bad idea, LoL would dominate the section. With regards to option 7, as stated in an earlier thread, where would we go to discuss multi-platform viral games, such as COD? I know I could post it in it's respected platform area, but the game doesn't vary from platform to platform, whether it be PS3 or XBOX. I am stuck at the moment in which to actually vote for.
