got hacked

I got hacked on steam today, and I honestly don't even know how. I typed my password in around five times before giving up and trying to recover the password. After that, I see the email is changed. The guy hasn't even logged in for 3 days. I have a blue steel flip knife on the account which is the only thing of value on there. I didn't download anything and I don't click on phishing links. I scanned for viruses, and zero came up. Anybody know how, and am I screwed in terms of my knife? Also, I got no emails on my main email about password changes or the such.

 

Hmm, that's a toughie. In the terms of your knife, its 99% gone, I can tell you that. But try hitman pro. That's a good virus protection software (yes, there is a free trial). But if that still doesn't show anything, then it's very odd...

 

It's so weird. I actually use hitman pro and that didn't find anything. I didn't get an email about any password changes either. All of this is so weird, I never give out my account information and I'm not stupid enough to get phished. This guy hasn't logged into the account since I lost it. All I know as of now is that the email is changed to something I don't recognize. And steam support won't help me before he is able to sell my knife? Also, doesn't steam give back hacked items?

 

There is no protection against UD viruses , but a good method for detecting viruses is analyzing your network traffic.
