Game of thrones watch of nah?

Don't know if this is the right section. Title says everything wanna see what you guys think.

 

The first four seasons are probably some of the best, if not the best, television I've ever seen. The quality of the show suffers a sharp decline after that. Mostly because they caught up with the source material, and started to take some liberties. A lot of what made the show great was lost after that. It turned from this show with a methodical buildup to one that relies on spectacle because they lack the finer details. Sometimes this worked, most of the time it did not.

For what it's worth, there's one episode in season five that I thought was amazing (5x8). There's also two episodes in season six, oddly enough, that I consider the best episodes in the series (6x9 and 6x10). However, if I could go back in time, I'd tell my former self to just stop at the end of season four because the bad outweighs the good. For what it's worth, I would still invest that time to watch those episodes again, because that's how good early Game of Thrones is.

 

One of my top three favorite shows, ever (along with The Office and Burn Notice).

Absolutely incredible and worth watching. The last season was horrible compared to the rest of the show.. so agree with wulf on that. However, definitely do not agree that GoT began degrading after S4.

Watch it, you won’t be disappointed.

Personally one of my favourite shows until like season 7, dont even want about the final one because of how god awful it was

It's an incredible show. The ending was rushed but even if I didn't love how the show closed it's one of the greatest televisions series ever made. It breaks all of your TV norms and watching it is truly a roller-coaster of emotions. Absolutely 10/10 watch the show.

In totality, it's great, but definitely not the best. The whole series ended up in a crappy manner, but I'd say it's still worth a watch as a whole.

 

Na Many other good Shows that dont fuck the ending so hard I still feel it a year later. It was so bad I have no Desire to rewatch the series.

 

I still haven’t watched season 8 all the way through and have no idea how it ends... As a fan, I feel like I don’t want it to end cause it not only ends but I’ve heard bad things.

No.

The first 4 seasons were amazing, although seasons 3 and 4 started to introduce somewhat major changes from the books (which is fine normally, but it turns out that these showrunners got lost easily when they don't have a handrail to hang onto).

Season 5 trusted a fart and accidentally took a little shit in its pants, but it was able to mostly clean itself up by season 6, although there was a noticeable trend away from clever writing/dialogue towards more mainstream "oh cool bro" action/CGI scenes.

Season 7 had violently explosive diarrhea, but luckily it was wearing mesh pants, and we were all thinking that season 8 would redeem it so nobody was too concerned.

Season 8 turned around and told us that it had a fetish for diarrhea, and proceeded to gargle gold-flecked liquid shit for 4 out of 6 episodes. It was a fucking spit in the face, a colossal middle finger raised to anybody who cared about actual story development.

Honestly, the best argument against GOT is how, a bare year later, pretty much nobody talks about it. People still talk about The Sopranos, Breaking Bad, The Wire, Seinfeld, etc. - but nobody gives a shit about D&D's poor, shitty, limp-dicked product.

Read the books, you won't get as far in the story, but you'll be the happier for it.

 

Yeah GOT is the best show ever imo
