Gaining exposure and popularity?

Hello, my friends.
Well, I recently started up a Youtube channel and you know, I'm going to be posting the videos and such.
But, my main question is; how do I gain exposure?
-How do I gain views and subscribers?
-How do I create good content?
-What should I play?

Talk about all the annoying stupid shit in videos games now. Somewhat along the lines of them dumbing down all the videogames so even stupid people who wouldn't normally play would play. (I.E. Skyrim CoD BF etc)

 

If you're going the commentary route on youtube which appears you are, people are interested in personalities, people watch anyone who is entertaining.

 

As stated above, you need a unique personality or a compelling argument (a combination of both is great) to win over a bulk of the population.

A good way to gain exposure locally on sythe would be to post videos in the appropriate sections, maybe rent a signature or two advertising your video and I believe you are also able to buy views/subscriptions to channels on sythe somewhere, don't quote me on that though haha.

idk wht platform ur playing on but things like COD, HALO, etc.

Maybe collect some nice gameplay and review them and rank them in a maybe top 10 Smith Gameplay for the week.

 

I don't want to do something like that, because there are plenty of them on Machinima. I'll be uploading a new video today, so, we'll see.

 

To gain popularity in the youtube scene all you need is something different. Make your subs want to go to your channel and view your videos.

-How do I gain views and subscribers? Put a SHITton of tags, reccomend your videos to people etc.
-How do I create good content? It sounds like you already have a good recorder and mic so your set there.
-What should I play? ANYTHING. Try games most other commentators don't play.

DO NOT plays: Minecraft, MW3 etc.

You have chosen counterstrike which is a very good choice as its not as popular as COD and the older generation tend to play it (not bitchy 12 year olds)

Also what recorder do you use?

I may play Grand Theft Auto 4: Let's Play - maybe. I need more suggestions for games. I have all of the GTAs, Counter-Strike: Source, Team Fortress 2 and Garry's Mod.

Funny prank calls if you are good at it.
Daily vids of funny vids or game playing. Runescape etc.

You can get famous fast using these ways.
