What will happen on earth 50 years from now?

What major events do you think will take place on earth in the next 50 years? I have many theories and it's a fun and interesting subject to think about. Below I will list my four most interesting theories.

*I feel as though China will eventually go to war with USA resulting in the entire world eventually being taken over.

*Nuclear war in which nuclear warheads are launched back and forth resulting in the destruction of most civilization.

*Major resources used up. Large increase of population requires larger amounts of resources to supply them with. Example: USA runs out of fresh water and invades Canada.

*A planet other than earth becomes liveable. Such as Mars with large structures filled with oxygen which will allow people to live in them.

All of these theories lead to a question. "What if?" What if a planet was liveable, would the entire world population move to it? What if people didn't want to leave? Would they be forced to live in the now abandoned planet earth? Would there be any laws in the "old" earth? Perhaps the people who chose to stay could elect their own government and rebuild earth. You see where I am going with this? You can use "What if" and the theory can potentially go on forever with many other alternative paths sprouting off of the original "What if?".

    It's your hypothesis.

I think China will indeed be a great nation and will dominate the world economy. Though I don't think they will invade America, because they will be the greatest power in the world. They won't have any reason to invade them.

Yes, I think there will be a war with nuclear weapons between the middle-east and America.

Resources will be scarce. We will be able to produce other things to replace those though. Currently there are many researches who are trying and succeeding in replacing things like fuel.

I really hope this one becomes real! We are so close to finding actual water on Mars that it's not even that weird to think that this is an actual option for the future. Although I think 50 years might be a little fast.

Personally I think we will live a lot 'greener'. That's all.. Nothing else wil drastically change.

Possible, but not likely. Without countries like the US supporting their cheap labor, countries like China crumble quickly.

This has been said during every generation since nuclear weapons were invented. Every generation has feared this so far, and while it is a real concern, I do not think it is very likely to happen.

Doubtful that we would reach a point where resources are so thin that we have to invade other countries in just 50 years. Very, very unlikely.

Not likely that we could have Mars in any sort of liveable condition in such a short period of time. Even just living under bubbles filled with self sustaining systems is a HUGE feat. Not one that is likely for at least the next 100 years or so barring any major breakthroughs that would make such an accomplishment DRASTICALLY easier in some way. The trip there is 2 years alone, and probably costs an unimaginable amount of money. Our space crafts can only hold so many people. When you factor in return times on the shuttles, and that the flights have to be carefully planned at just the right times in order to hit the correct target (the planets are moving at different velocities, you can't just blast off at any time) it really is pretty difficult to imagine it being feasible given our current limitations/rate of growth (we're growing fast, no doubt, but don't underestimate the truly marvelous feat this would be)

Define "liveable". If we're just talking self sustaining enclosed systems, no, the general population will have no desire to go there. It would be the equivalent to going to the very early settlers that came from the east to settle the New World, only magnified by a factor of like 100,000. They would need extensive training just to make the flight there, meaning only the fittest would even qualify first of all. Plus the living would be HARSH. Really harsh. Martian sandstorms are brutal, not to mention the planet has practically no magnetic field, rendering anyone or anything on the surface VERY vulnerable to the sun's wrath. I could go on and on about why the vast majority of the population would choose to remain on Earth until the point where another planet is found or coaxed into being nearly exactly like mother Earth. Not many people would willingly be those pioneers that have to put up with living in a giant bubble with recycled oxygen, eating nearly 100% vegetables or tofu products. The human body just isn't fit to withstand that. Lower gravity also results in bone degradation.

Honestly, I doubt anything really horrible will happen. Most of tomorrow's problems will be about moore's law and the electronics industry. The transistor's shrinking so fast that in 20 or 30 years it will be smaller than an atom, however, that's impossible. other than that, everything has to stay the way it is now, or else everything will collapse.

I honestly don't think any hugely drastic changes will happen that soon.

    Infracted.

I think there is a possibility that we go to war with someone such as China, but it depends on some factors such as elections, inventions, etc.
