why is it fucking dangerous as fucking shit to use a static rope while lead climbing instead of a dynamic one?

 

Because a static rope can break.

duopperi got it. When lead climbing, if the leader were to fall a static could seriously hurt him since it wouldn't absorb any shock while dynamic ropes act sort of like mini bungee ropes. duopperi gets +10 internetz
