Ip checker

Well, instead of banning those banevaders when it's to late(after they scammed.) Why dont you make a script that checks sythe's database for ip's. So if your a ban evader, it wont allow you to make an account, and will automatically redirect you to google.com or something. And if your ip doesnt come up on the database, it will allow you to register.

So, Player A scams Player B.
Player B reports.
Player A gets banned, decides he wants to come back.
Player A try's to register a new acc
Script see's his ip, redirect's him to a different page(prefferably meatspin )
Player A can't register anymore.
= Ban evader got owned.

 

That's what IP bans are for.

 

But you only get ip banned the second time you are banned, which is already two times that the scammer can hit. Correct?

The best thing to do is to make a fairly well-known middle-man mandatory for all trades, which is rather unrealistic, because as mopar said, proxies are easy to use, and google will always help when you're checking how to change your IP adress.

 

Ip adress changes= Limit Less In fact mine changes every 45-130 Minutes.

Users should be inmediatly IP banned if they are catched scamming...with good proof of course

 

In theory, like most other suggestions, works. However, it's very hard to do these types of things.

Well this seems almost pointless for many reasons.
1. Sythe already IP bans people
2. A lot of people have constantly changing ips
3. The majority of ban evaders will just use a proxy.

I see where you were going with this, but in all honesty it is pointless

Dynamic IP's change too much, and can be changed very easily.. It's too easy to spoof IP's and everything and would be quite pointless to have to go around making a pointless script that a even free web-based format has which is an " IP ban "..

Some IP's when changed keeps it's first 3 main points ( I.E: ###.###.###.DiffDiffDiff ), but the problem with that other people can have them digits too. So, considering than making a script to ban 'Player A'

How many innocent people with that starting IP or ending IP will be banned... Such as static routing IP's, you can go into your router (I.E: http://192.167.1.1 ) and set up yourself a static IP, and only changing the last 3 digits in set up. Keeping your DNS server etc the same, subnet mask being auto (I.E: 255.255.255.0 ). Then your IP will never refresh and stay the same.

So, this is all useless.. Let's just never bring the suggestion up again, rofl.. I think I made a good point, but on a serious note...

The best is to IP ban, if the individual gets a hold of a proxy or anything, then that's when the staff does their job to notice various different things that matches the two individuals together proving to be the same person, thus then banning them.

 

People have gotten in trouble in the past for putting ban images like that. It makes the site look unprofessional.

What kind of fucked up person thinks of redirecting someone to meatspin for an ip ban?

 

i only read first ppage so i duno if im not only 1 but if i turn my modem off leave off for like 30 secs turn back on, my ip changes. i have speed stream modem, and im with at&t.
