What are staff ranks?
Sectional moderators have different ranks for each section that they moderate (i.e. off-topic mods have off-topic ranks), global moderators have a singular "Global Moderator" rank, and administrators have a singular "Administrator" rank.





What are status ranks?
These ranks help define a person's status on Sythe.org. For example the "Banned" rank is a status rank because it shows that someone is banned. Others include "Trade With Caution", "Self Requested Ban", "Temporary Ban", "Highly Respected", and "Highly Trusted". Donation ranks can also be considered status ranks.

What are fun ranks?
Fun ranks are special ranks that are given out upon administrator discretion, or by winning certain contests. They don't have any special purpose other than to look cool.

How do I get a fun rank?
Administrators may choose to give out fun ranks, but it does not happen very often. Your best chance is to obtain one by winning a contest. Most official Sythe.org contests will offer some sort of fun rank as a prize. Keep your eye open for the next chance to win one!

"How do I quote a post"
To quote a post, you click the button at the bottom of somebody's post. To quote multiple posts, click the button on the post, and when it changes to , it's been selected. You do this to as many as you want, and then on the last one you want to quote, click the normal quote button to make it put them all in a post in the "advanced post" area.

Can i bump this? Part of the new FAQ has been released but i feel the community can pitch in a lil more.

 

Bumping this again, why create a project to improve the FAQ, scam us of our time and then let this thread get buried. I along with some other people worked really hard towards the new FAQ and i don't like seeing my time wasted and no one getting the Fun ranks

Not necessarily, SuF said he had 2 fun ranks to give out for the hard work in this. So far 1/2 fun ranks have been given out.

 

x339 Barely did jack compared to my 100 questions and answers all typed out. I honestly feel robbed of my time.

I actually feel like ive got scammed. Is this what it feels like when someone just takes somthing from you? I stayed up for like 4 hours late that night just typing and gigling to myself as i knew in just a few days i would be shoving my Mudkip fun rank in spam forum's face and then thread goes inactive for a few weeks. I tried to bump it and be as helpful as i could, many times, but still nothing. Then SuF gives x339 the rank to throw it all in my face. I've been scammed, we've all been scammed here today, by a mod. Scammed I say, SCAMMED.
Why does sythe freely alow a mod to scam?

Imagine like 4-6 hours i sat there in word typing one hundred questions and answers as well as some reformatting and keeping the thread bumped. SuF scammed us here today and we need to take action. He has scammed us of our time and our dignity.

Maybe if we split the fun rank you could get "Mud" and the left side of the face and i could get "kip" and the right side.

 

I don't think he scammed anyone... It was up to him to give out the ranks or not. As for why x339 got it, I can specifically remember him annoying the fuck (well, it was annoying for me at least) out of SuF in the IRC for him to issue the ranks. He probably did it to shut him up.

Vouches determine if someone is trusted or not. The more vouches a person has, the most trusted they are. Although it doesn't always mean that they are trusted as some do fake vouches, but doing this will get them banned.

You can use google's converter, simply search for 'currency converter' on google.

Depends from the buyer/seller. Some of the most known ones are PayPal, MoneyBookers, Western Union. Some even use RuneScape gold.

Report their post by clicking on the triangle on the top-right corner of their post. After you do so a moderator will infract them.

What is an impostor?
An impostor is someone who claims to be someone else.

My Sythe account has been hacked. What should I do?
Get in contact with ANY moderator or admin as fast as possible or ask someone else to PM them for you and tell them to ban your account.

Someone hacked my account and used it to scam, now it's banned. Can I get it back?
If the person scammed someone, you should pay for everything that has been scammed to get your account unbanned as it was your fault.

Why should I use MSN / Skype to conduct trades?
It is an easier way of communication and in case they scam, you can take screen shots and file a scam report towards them.

How do I include images in my posts, instead of just links to the images?
By inserting the tags.

Is sending money as a gift through Paypal safe?
No, it's the same as any other method.

If I buy RuneScape account from someone, can it be recovered even if I add my email?
Yes, creator IP is always prioritized.

No, you should also disable file transfer.

How do I know if I can trust someone?
You don't. You are the one to judge if someone is trusted or not. You can always use an OMM or MM though.

Aren't moderators and official middlemen the same thing?
No. Moderators moderate the forum and official middlemen only make sure trades go smooth and have no access on moderating the forum.

How can I prove I actually have the things I am selling?
By posting pictures of it on your thread or PMing someone in game to prove you own the account (when selling names or accounts).

 

All these questions have already been answered.... its really sad that x339 who should of been banned for abusing a bug glitch can manipulate his way into a fun rank..hes like 15 years old

 

Blah blah blah. I had a system. x339 added up the credits. He clearly won since I used a lot of his answers because I judged them to be best. There were two fun ranks up for grabs. Lots of people put time in. Not everyone would get one.

 

Shows you whos more in it for the rank than trying to help the forum grow (which is the main reason these ranks should be given). To people who help without wanting something in return.

 

So theres still the possibility for the other people who put in 6 fucking hours to get one? This really felt like a scam dude.
