I wanted a two sentence or so version. Then I was going to put a "for more information: yadayadayada".

I'll keep working on this when I get some time on my hands. It's not dead. Don't worry. Keep the questions coming and suggest layouts and orders for the questions.

Can you clean up the OP of this thread a bit please. Everything under the "Questions" quote box seems a bit unnecesary. It's also probably helpful to link the "work-in-progress" thread in the OP as well.

Would this guide by Grrr can be incorporated into this at all? I never knew about Multi-Quoting when i started, and it's certainly a handy tool to know.

That certainly could be made into a question with that guide linked as more information.

Also: I've started school again and am fairly busy so progress will be slow.

What is the "multi-quote" tool?
Next to the quote button on each post there is a button that looks like this: [IMG]. By clicking this button on a post it will add it to the multi-quote. Once you've found the last post you want to quote, click the "quote" button and it will bring up every post you multi-quoted. If you have already selected a post to be multi-quoted it will look like this: [IMG]. For more information please visit [IMG].

How should I determine trustworthiness?
When determining if someone is trustworthy or not, you should always check out the quality of their vouches (how big the trade was, who went first). Always remember that a few good quality vouches (100M+ trades) are better than many small trades (5M-10M trades). In addition to checking vouch quality, check if the vouches are real by clicking this arrow: [IMG] inside each vouch. Also, check if the user has any trust ranks, such as the Official Middle Man rank or the Highly Trusted rank.

I'll split off the checking if they are real question...

How do I know if someone's vouches are real?

How should I determine trustworthiness?
Trustworthiness is a very subjective quality, but there are few things that you can look at to help you determine whether or not you should trust someone.

-First and foremost you need to look at their vouches. Look at the number of vouches they have, and look to see how big each vouch is. For example, someone might have 10 vouches, but the biggest one was only a 5mil trade. This person might not be as reliable as someone with 10 vouches for trades of 100mil. Anoth

-Secondly, look at the person's join date and post count. If it's a later join date with a higher post count it usually shows that they are a prominent member of the community. This shouldn't be a huge factor in your decision, but it still helps to know.

-Lastly, look at their thread (or past threads) and see how many satisfied customers they've had. If they have a 3 page thread and 2 pages is just "Bump", then maybe there is something up. Or maybe some people posted things like "He is a scammer don't trade with him!", although this is hardly enough proof to determine he is a scammer, it should raise some flags with you.

No matter how trustworthy you deem a person to be, always use an MM if you don't feel 110% safe. If a person says things like "An MM is a waste of time", they are probably trying to scam you.

How do I know if someone's vouches are real?
To check whether a user's vouches are real, go to their vouch thread and look for this arrow - [IMG] - inside the quote box. If that arrow is not there, the vouch is probably not real, and you should report them in the Report a Scammer section. If the arrow is there, click the arrow to see the original post; and read the original post to compare whether the text in the vouch matches the real post.

What is bumping?
Bumping is the act of posting a reply to a thread that you started to "bump" your thread to the first page of the forum section. Bumping is common for those who feel their thread is in need of more attention.

How do I bump?

The most common way of bumping is by posting "Bump." on your thread. Bumping includes but is not limited to posting things such as "Updated prices" or "Added new pictures" If your post is not replying to anothers post or is not adding any new information to the thread, it is a bump.

How do I know if someone is a scammer?
You can notice if someone is a scammer if he is trying to sell something that worth a lot just for a very cheap price and also if he refuses to the use of a middlemen

This is untrue and poorly worded. Firstly, it is not against Sythe rules to sell something for cheap. Yes, it may be suspicious, that is why we have the TWC. You can not just assume anyone refusing to use an MM is a scammer, it may also be suspicious, but that is also what the TWC is for. Assuming any person is a scammer can only be done with valid proof of that person scamming or attempting to scam.

Here it is: 101 questions and answers. 50 are from SuF's original post and 51 i posed myself. Please edit some of the answers so that they read better or give a better answer for the questions.

Questions
1. What are 'vouches'?
Vouches are like virtual recommendations for online members. Vouches are obtained through trades and the like, and they show trustworthiness and legitimacy. Vouches are a good indicator of worth on Sythe and they are highly valued.
2. What’s a signature?
A signature is your own personal image or dialogue box you can use to advertise your services or sales on sythe.org, or to just display a message. It can be no bigger than 650x350, and using a signature bigger than this size may result in you losing your ability to have a signature.
3. RuneScape Gen FAQ: how do i recover my runescape account without an email?
Emailing JaGeX would be your safest bet, and try to recover the account with your secret questions, old passwords or billing information, this can be done in the Account Recovery section on runescape.com .
4. I'm new to the forums, is the spam forum a good place to hang out?
A lot of the spamming and post regulations do not apply in the spam forum so it becomes a cesspool for trolling and they might eat newbie’s up. Why don’t you start by introducing yourself in the ‘Introductions/Farewell’s Section of the site under “Our Community.”
5. How to pronounce 'Sythe'.
It’s pronounced exactly the same as you would pronounce ‘Scythe’, the farming tool.
6. How do I request my thread to be moved or locked?
You can either report your own thread and explain that you want it locked or moved to a different section, or you can PM a moderator the link and request it be moved/locked.
7. What is "Live Help?"
Live help is Sythe.org’s own personal online assistance system. It is not always available, but when it is online you can use it to talk to moderators about problems or issues you are having. Trolling the live support system results in infractions.
8. What's an HMM/OMM / MM? What's the difference between the three?
HMM, OMM and MM stand for Head Middleman, Official Middleman and Middleman respectively. A middleman is someone who is the overseer of a trade and makes sure it runs smoothly. You do not have to use one to trade on sythe.org but it is recommended. Middlemans typically hold both items from each party members and then deliver them to the respective parties so no one gets scammed. Middlemen who have provided exceptional service and middlemanning can apply to become an ‘OMM’. Official middlemans are highly trusted and will usually charge a small fee to middleman a trade. The Headmiddleman (Currently n4n0) oversee’s all the Official middlemans and deals with the middleman forums.
9. How to embed youtube videos?
There is an option to do this in the chat options when replying to a messege, its [ youtube] your link
10. How do I trade safely?
The safest way you trade is to use a trusted middle man or Official Middleman.
11. What is bumping?
Bumping is replying to a thread which causes it to go to the top of the page in that section. Bumping is used to get attention towards your thread.
12. When can I bump?
You may bump your own thread 3 times per 24 hours. You cannot pay or ask anyone else to bump your threads.
13. I see people who donated the same amount as me with a different Donator icon, how come?
Those are ‘Legacy’ donator ranks, they were for people who have donated pre- 2010 and you cannot achieve these anymore.
14. What do all these slang terms I keep seeing all over the forums mean?
Is this question asking about abbreviations like OT, DIAF and stuff? I don’t know all of them and cant think of any more to be honest.
15. What currency do people trade in here on Sythe?
Real money and runescape gold mainly. Selective traders may trade with Near-Reality Gold and individual buyers may ask you to send money in a currency other than USD. Bit coins are extremely rare on sythe.
16. Help! Someone is selling/buying something not in my currency, how can i find out how much it is converted to mine?
You can google ‘currency converter’ and it will give you a list of handy currency tools, keep in mind, sites like mooneybookers and paypal will charge a small currency conversion fee.
17. What payment methods are accepted on Sythe?
Most are accepted, but the common ones used are Paypal, Western Union, Liberty, Moneybookers and Moneypak. RSGP also holds as a payment method but the rate of rsgp=$ is set by the person your trading with, and there is no set amount to pay per million runescape gold.
18. How do I get vouches?
By simply doing trades with other sythe members. After the trade they might be kind enough to vouch for you and you them, but keep in mind you are not required to vouch and you cannot demand a vouch for the trade.
19. What is ban evading/vading?
Ban Evading or ‘Vading’ is when a member’s sythe account is banned and so they create a new one that isn’t banned so that they can continue trading. Moderators can easily find and link all ban evading counts to the original, and it just adds on to your offence list.
20. I've been scammed by someone, what should I do?
Gather as much evidence as you can, i.e. Screenshots of the MSN/Skype window, Screenshots of the msn name, screenshots/videos of the trade happening and the other person scamming you by cancelling the runescape trade and logging of, ect. And then post these screenshots following the format given in the ‘Report a Scammer’ section all the way at the bottom of the sythe.org homepage.
21. Is there any risk with buying Runescape accounts?
There is always risk in buying any form of account for any game anywhere. Always assume that accounts are recoverable and only buy accounts from members you trust.
22. Which payment methods are safest for sellers?
By having a verified paypal you run less risk that buyers will chargeback their payments as PayPal are more likely to side with you in disputes. However, bank transfer or western union would be the safest options.
23. How do I donate?
By going to the ‘Donation Center’ at the top of the sythe.org homepage.
24. What are the perks of donating?
Access to the donators lounge, a bigger PM box (500 Messages), the ability to appear offline, a larger avatar (150x 100px) and over 30 extra post icons when you create a thread, to name a few.
25. What's the difference between administrators, global moderators, and sectional moderators?
26. If I'm scammed, will I get compensation from Sythe?
Unfortunately Sythe has no obligation to compensate you if you are scammed.
27. How big can my Sythe avatar be?
80x80 for regular users, but for donators it is increased to 150x 100px.
28. How do I change the text under my username?
This is called a “User Title” and changing it is only available to $50 donators and staff members.
29. Someone is spamming my thread. What do I do?
Report all the spam posts as ‘spam’ and they will receive infractions.
30. What is an impostor?
Imposters are someone who pose as someone else, usually by creating very similar msn and skype addresses. Example: My msn address could be ‘’, but an imposter might create the address ‘’ and use it to scam and trying to pretend their me.
31. How do I avoid impostors?
Look out for imposter adresses by scanning for hidden periods, underscores, hyphens and numbers, double-check everything and always request a PM from the sythe account of the person your trading with, if they refuse, you probably have found an imposter
32. What is a self-requested ban?
A self-requested ban is when a user requests that there account be either temporarily or permanently banned. Common reasons for this is that they think they might be key logged or have a virus and need to ban their Sythe account so that the hacker doesn’t use it to scam.
33. What is a trade with caution?
A trade with caution is given to either suspicious members or members coming off from a ban where they are listed as suspicious. It means that the staff acknowledge they can be a part of the forums but it may not be 100% safe to trade with this user, but there is not enough evidence to fully ban them.
34. My Sythe account has been hacked. What should I do?
Create a dispute or talk to a staff member and ask them to give you a ‘Self-Requested Ban’. This will mean the hacker can no longer acess your account and can’t use it to scam, after you get your account in order by changing the email and password you can ask for it to be unbanned.
35. Someone hacked my account and used it to scam, now it's banned. Can I get it back?
You will need to pay back the amount the scammer scammed to the people he scammed it from before the staff will unban your account. Get in contact with these people and return their money and take screen shots of proof of them confirming that they have been paid back. You need some kind of proof to show the staff that you have paid the users back.
