Honestly I wouldn't worry about it at all. Regardless of who created this, it's obvious it's filled with a load of crap in order to sell issues.

Find it a bit sad he put his friends (or ex-friends now) over the site which he isn't part of anymore, I know a few admins he was particularly close with, and he just threw the remainder of his friends in the bin, all to try and cause just a little bit of drama for the site. I'm not even surprised Richard vetoed his promo poll, he just causes way too much trouble.

 

He's bitter, he's going to want to plant paranoia and spite between staff members, and he's extremely manipulative (as everyone already knows). If anything, it should just be put into the past - we should all just be happy he's gone.

 

Good on you for posting this, though I wouldn't make a habit of addressing claims lacking evidence. My memory is pretty good, so I'll try to contribute to a few points.

Spyike was promoted to moderate the market by a majority vote while I was a global. He resigned that very day and returned a month later when he had more free time. He spent three months as a sectional and helped the site immensely. He was by far the most active moderator and helped in many fields. Several people left in a short amount of time (Jimmy resigned, Austin was banned, Robert left, and Sindre was banned) and we were stressed by a couple of fiascoes. Yes, Richard promoted Spyike without a poll. No, Spyike did not pay for his position. He earned it. In retrospect, I understand Richard's decision. Attitude aside, Spyike was the most hard-working moderator on the site.

Shredderbeam was not banned for political disagreements. He was banned for corruption after a lengthy investigation. I remember reading through the relevant thread in the admin archives. Finn was extensively involved in the process and is being intentionally misleading.

Gohan's pardon was a complex issue, and reducing it to "scamming" is disingenuous. Notes on the alleged "scam"...

• It involved very little value (around $5, as I recall)
• The other party was banned for scamming
• Gohan tried to contact the other party, but they were long gone
• Gohan came forward out of conscience -- there was no chance that this would catch up with him
• Finn, along with the vast majority of the staff, sympathized with and trusted Gohan (and it's pretty clear that the trust was not misplaced)

 

I think it is important that this book be made free and it's content explained away so that it cannot be profited from.

I was always curious as to who blondi was. I remember looking at the user groups page and thinking to myself "who is Blondi??" Its so Finn-like to personally do something like that and then try to pass it off as admin corruption.

 

I don't think having a person of such high stature leaking an eBook sets a good example for the ever-so-strict leaking rules on Sythe. There's no way to justify this unless the author authorized it being published here. I can see where you could quote bits of it, but uploading the full eBook is some thing usually frowned upon. And the fact that you state you damaged the author's profit on the effort he placed on writing the content as if its an achievement is disgusting.

How would you like it if someone did the same to your work(s) on the premise that its bullshit?

 

Finn did not deserve to earn any profit. No one wants to read his bullshit and that's not even a decent e-book.

 

Not to mention the fact the person who's selling it might not even be Finn.

 

Who are you to decide what he deserves, and if no one is interested in reading it, why was it provided for free for everyone to read? And again, whoever wrote it has rights to it, even if its fiction. I thought Sythe was a place where bias didn't play into the rules? Its ironic how the same exact things Finn was criticized for as an admin are happening on this thread.

And this has nothing to do with defending Finn. He also mistreated me at times, but unintentionally. Just get over it and don't try to justify your misactions by someone else's

 

The seller repeatedly violated rules of this site to advertise, and this book is a blatant and shameless attempt at smearing this site and its staff's reputation. If someone comes up to your front door and nails an advertisement to it, despite repeated requests to stop, I don't think releasing the defamatory material they're saying about you is unfair... and frankly, it was four pages, which is less than what you get for book previews on Amazon.

So based on your logic, if someone DDoSes Sythe, we should do it back, even though its illegal. If someone nails an advertisement for a product to your door, you should go steal the product, and if a guide is short, we should be permitted to leak it.

Please amend the rules to that and then you're correct.

 

Except, this isn't about revenge. It's to clear up any false impressions people might get by the claims being made, and to show that Sythe.org has nothing to hide.

You can quote important parts of the work, not reproduce the entire things.

 

In this case, the entire document is important - aside from maybe the introductory quote about the interviewee's identity, everything said is a claim that is damaging to this site.

You can quote important parts of the work, not reproduce the entire things. Do it the same way you would an argumentative essay: quote important parts within your response and paraphrase as needed, assuming the person can go buy the work for more details.
