WoW, is it good?

I only play Runescape. Is WoW a good game and is it easy to get tons of money? Are there bots in WoW?

 

I've never played, but you can buy whatever the currency is on Sythe, and im sure there are bots.

I do know its a lot more expensive than RS to play.

 

There are Bots. WoW is not fun if all you want to do is make alot of gold. To make alot of gold you will need a few 90s with max proffesions and it will take a while to get that.

 

wow has a bigger botting problem then runescape as they do nothing about it

 

It's a good game but it takes a lot of time to get to the top(unless you're a pro, or something.)

However, it is very expensive with the subscription fee.

 

The thing about WoW is it is not based solely on the amount of money you have. You do not really need money until you are maxed which is level 90. And the only reason you would need money for is your gear enchantments. You make enough money just questing throughout the zones since you will probably hit 90 and have multiple zonez in outlands, wotlk area and pandaria.

 

When I did the (semi) transition from RS to WoW I thought it was the best thing ever.
That game is unreal, and sure some parts are getting outdated, it's definitely worth a try.

Combat systems heaps good there, social aspect is great (guilds are a lot more involved than rs clans are). Levelling is at the perfect speed - not too long, but definitely not a walk in the park. And best of all, once you hit 90 that's where the game takes its biggest turn. Dungeons, raids, all that stuff.

As for gold, you'll make plenty levelling up from quests/ selling mats and stuff like that. Professions will be a drag on your bank but hey, you don't need them right away either.

Verdict: We all need to give it a go.

I have been into WoW on and off since Vanilla/The Burning Crusade.

From my experience I can tell you, you may enjoy it for a while then it will die down. The new expansion Mist's of Pandaria is ridiclous in my opinion and i have wasted £30 on it. If you are still thinking about playing it i recommend trying a private server giving that a go, and the trial of the official WoW see how you're computer handles it and see how you enjoy it.

It will come to a point where the game is just rinse and repeat.

In my opinion once again WoW will never be the same game as it used to be and joining WoW at this time would be a bad move.

It's good, in my opinion. But be prepared to invest some time into it.

You're probably debating whether to buy it or not, in which case there's a free trial out up to level 20. So you can try it and see if you like it or not. I think up to level 20 is more than you need to decide if you like it or not.

I disagree with the up to level 20 part of you're sentence, as it does not determine you're feeling to the game a lot, especially as how easy the game is nowadays.

 

I've played Runescape a lot before and I enjoy WoW a lot more. It's a much better gameplay and it's nice having graphics better than stick figures

 

Wow is much better gameplay and graphics, so wow.

 

WoW is at it's funnest when you reach the max level. The leveling up to that may be a bit tedious however if you join a good guild, get some MATURE friends on it then leveling is also quite enjoyable.

Try it out and see for yourself is the best bet.

 

Not true. These days both TBC and WOTLK are bundled with the original game purchase ($20). In fact, you can upgrade all the way to Mists of Pandaria from a trial account for $60.

As for the expansion: WoW, for a new player, is in a pretty comfortable position. They've made leveling A LOT easier in the last 2 expansions, and as MoP just came out, by the time you hit level cap in a month or two the next major content patch will probably be just coming out and ready for you to venture into. If you have $60, and are interested in trying, you should give it a shot.

They've done a great job making leveling a lot more enjoyable along the way to 90, but unfortunately it is true that the game itself doesn't really "start" until you are max level.

All in all, it's a great game. If you think about Xbox live games, you're paying $60 a year, and $60 for a game you might play for a month or two rigorously before you drop it and pick a new one up. The sound of $15 a month seems high, but if you sit back and think about how much more you spend on petty Steam games you won't play, RS membership, Xbox / PS3 games with low re playability, you realize that $15 for a game that can keep you interested and busy for YEARS is a fair price to pay. Yes, I wish it was lower, but $15 is a number that you should be able to come up with each month.

 

Interesting... I'm still not sure if I'd like it. I don't really have the money to buy it. I'll probably just stick with Runescape. Thanks for all of the replies.
