Frustrated...

Anyone eles miss the time when accounts were harder to recover? Now a days recovering an account is so easy that many individuals like myself have trouble selling accounts. Sure I may not be the most trusted member on sythe, but the services I have provided to our members sure has some credit. Instead, now I have to lower the prices on my accounts just to attract more people.

What are your opinions?

Its not really the same thread, this thread is asking for opions on account recovery.

 

It hasn't affected me personally, but it would definitely make me extra cautious when purchasing an account from somebody else. The account market can already be quite sketchy as it is, and so the new recovery system definitely doesn't make it easier for sellers.

I would prefer accounts to be slightly harder to recover, so it would be easier to secure your own accounts & accounts that you have purchased and have all the correct information for. It is a bit worrying that somebody else may be able to recover your account quite easily if they have just a few pieces of information about it.

 

I agree with what you said zerkerfist, having more secure accounts IF the seller is honest and trustworthy, sure thats a lovely perk, unfortunately lot's of sellers scam, and trust on sythe is not easily obtainable.

Kabal, I know the first part is very similar to the other thread but what the true point of this thread is to recieve opinion on account recovery from other members. Sorry for mixing them closely together.

 

I think that if you have an email set and recoveries set it should keep your account secure from the original owner but obviously not. I hope they can be more secure because it'll prevent all these account scams occurring.

 

The recovery system is their incase you forget your password or your account gets taken. Jagex haven't aimed it at RWTers, they are making it easier for legitimate players to get their account back if they have forgotten their password or their account has been hacked. This just ha a negative effect on the people who RWT.

 

Yeah, I doubt Jagex would care about RWTers, the new recovery system makes sence for everyday players however.
