I saw a guide on YouTube and it said Jad's first attack was always magic. I'm using my instakill dart on him so I need to be sure.

I'm freaking out, is his first attack always mage?
Any tips for me to last like 2 seconds against him?

 

That's a lie, its not always mage.

If you stand in the crevice of the North-Eastern Rock and face north then you'll either see him straight away or he will get trapped and you can watch which attack he does.

Either way you're safe to pray.

 

If you get behind the safe spot and just wait for jad to be the other side of the rock, the dart is insanely quicker than his attack so he won't have time to attack you at all.

 

No. I usually start with range pray because the sound and animation is shorter so there's less time to react. You can probably pray range with mage tank gear (gano, eek/spec, brewed hp, etc) and last a couple hits to hit him with the dart.
