I wanted to sell my Wow account so I wouldn't play Wow when I get to college in the fall but my friend told me that I shouldn't because after you study and come from work there is nothing to do in the dorm. He said that people only party on the weekends and in their free time in between studying and working you don't feel like partying but just chilling so a lot of people play Wow in college. I don't have a lot of college friends so I was hoping the people of Sythe could help me out and sorta describe how college really is and what happens there. :)

What is your res like? As in, how many people will be living on your floor? Are you sharing a room with anyone?

To tell you the truth, I don't know. The college is UNC(University of North Carolina) so it is very big. I am sure I will be sharing a dorm with 1+ people.

Maybe see what your roomate(s) are like? If they also play wow, you might as well play them. However if there not in to that kind of stuff, it's probably best not to play. You might look like a hermit if your roomates are going out all the time while your in your room playing wow..

If you don't have a lot of friends at college spending all your spare time on WOW isn't really going to help.

If you want to there are plenty of ways to make friends at college that aren't partying. Sports teams, clubs and so on are good ways to meet new people and fill your spare time.

Most of my professors would say that what you get out of college the most is not only the education, but the people you meet as well.

Maybe you should TRY to make friends. Remember at college nobody really cares who you are like middle school or high school. People are a lot more mature in college and you should use that to your benefit.

One embarrassment will not be a lifetime of pain of missing out on your college years.

Theres so many people in college, your BOUND to make friends whether you like it or not.

Try finding some parties, idk i've only been to community college but I met a lot of nice people in my time there.

It's very awesome to receive advise from a person that has actually attended college :)
I'm also very glad to hear that college will be much different than middle/high school. I was planning on quitting Wow for the reason that their is going to be so much social interaction that Wow will be in the way and I guess I was right :)

If you enjoy playing Wow, why quit? You have to balance things in your life. Clubs etc. don't run all the time, and likewise going out with friends isn't all the time, so what do you do when you're alone in the dorm with no studying left to do? Play Wow. I attend college and I manage to balance friends, a girlfriend, a part time job, fencing, soccer, gym and some time to play runescape and peruse sythe at my leisure :) Oh and study of course, can't forget that :p

You don't have to quit the game, but don't play it instead of interacting with people.

Trust me, there's plenty to do at college, and there's always people to chill with. I'd advise you not to play it just because you'll end up missing out on some great times, but if you do only do it on the rare occasions that there isn't anything else going on.

I wouldn't recommend taking that path as the time you would spend gaming could the time you wasted where you could have been having a drink with your mates talking to girls and what not.

Yea, I wanted to get rid of my account so I wouldn't miss out on all of those things, but I guess I will just have to find a balance like all things in life :)

Yea, I'm also worrying about playing Wow instead of studying because that will be REALLY bad.
